nasosn
Some time ago The Zigmeister posted some very nice tutorials on how to use your watch and avoid excessive wear and rear and he called these tutorials "Replica watch Basics"! He mentioned somewhere the following: "There are two basic types of automatic watches, those that wind in both directions, and those that wind in one direction......" ".....all Asian models are unidirectional (at least the ones I have seen). Included in this is the Asian or ETA 7750, it's a unidirectional model." And my question fellows is: Are the A7750s wound clockwise or counterclockwise (CW or CCW)?? If for example they are wound CW then should someone also adjust his watch winder to turn the watch CW or in alternate directions (both CW and CCW) as it has nothing to do with the watch's winding direction? The question may look easy to answer but take some seconds and think about it.....and let me know P.S.: I bought for my BCE a watch winder from Eilux the EW 1388 ST model which is relatively cheap (approximately 100 euro) and it works like a charm....The watch is on the winder for 3 full days and has a real fun Stays wound and ready to wear! It was something that i had a great problem with as i was forced to hand wind the watch each time it ran out of energy something that according to The Zigmeister will eventually lead to movement excessive wear & tear!
rckh
Nasosn: A7750/ET7750 = Uni-direction in "CLOCKWISE" ETA2824, 2836 = Bi-direction Best Regards, Raymond

Should this one be properly adjusted to rotate the watch clockwise?? This is my main curiosity
crystalcranium
Thanks Raymond but what about the watch winder direction? Should this one be properly adjusted to rotate the watch clockwise?? This is my main curiosity Maybe I'm missing the problem here. Set your winder to a unidirectional wind and see if the watch is powered up. If it isn't, reverse it. nasosn
Maybe I'm missing the problem here. Set your winder to a unidirectional wind and see if the watch is powered up. If it isn't, reverse it. Well in alternate mode (CW & CCW) the winder CERTAINLY charges the watch but it charges following a program of 5 minutes in CW direction and 5 minutes in CCW direction; while when being adjusted to CW only direction the watch is charged 10 minutes in CW direction! It is all a matter of losing energy and how to best manage it So which program should someone use??
Rikske
To wind the 7750 the rotor has to turn CW when viewed upon from the back of the watch.(You see some seethru casebacks where this is indicated by an arrow on the case ring) To achieve this you should turn the complete watch CCW when viewed upon from the back. But on a winder you are looking at the watch from the frontside meaning that everything reverses , hence to wind the watch the winder has to turn CW. That's why i said it is not so easy to guess what's the right direction for the watch winder....!Here's a very good explanation Thanks very much Rikske i'll follow that rule
