  1. NP guys. I asked him if he was fine with stating that the works on reps and he said it was no problem at all. What do you mean in terms of mods? Lume and AR? I can ask. When I took in the movement alone, he stated that he could also put the watch together for me if I liked (free of charge).
  2. He has actually been doing this for 35 years, I asked him and it is a legacy that he has learned from his father (like most watch smiths).
  3. Raul at Watch Repair Master in Los Angeles California http://www.watchrepairmaster.com/ http://www.yelp.com/biz/watch-repair-master-los-angeles-4 I was looking for a rep friendly watch smith to fix my ETA. I came upon this place looking through his Yelp reviews. He is located a block off Dodger Stadium. I was a little unsure since the reviews were mainly about chaning straps and batteries so I wasn't sure if he worked on more complex movements. However, based on his reviews, he seemed like a really honest and caring guy so I decided to try him out. I told him upfront that it was an asian clone movement of the ETA. He looked at it and was very enthusiastic. We talked about watches and replicas for about 10 minutes. He quoted me a really good price and also stated that it came with 1 year warranty without taking it apart and looking at it. I left the movement with him (I had no movement case) and he said that it would be done in a week. He called me a week later and told me that the movement was ready. He said that there was a jewel missing near the yoke and that based on our agreement it would still be the same quoted price. When I went to pick it up, he went into further detail and, knowing that I am getting into fixing my own watches, gave me some tips and showed me some of his gear. I also asked if he did water testing and he said that he has all the equipment for watches. He also was working on a huge clock (standing, not wall) when I went in and he told me that fixes all different types of clocks and watches. I highly recommend Raul. I have had a hard time finding a good and honest watchmaker in LA with reasonable prices and I finally found him.
  4. EDIT: Actually upon inspection and matching with this thread at another forum: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=39771 It seems that this movement is actually Asian. If this is correct that means I won't be buying from TWG anytime soon... It's a good thing my other watches are Asian because I paid for less than half the price and they are still running great.
  5. I bought this watch over 5 years ago from Andrew. Within a couple of months the 12 o'clock marker fell off. In my infinite wisdom, I used the duct-tape method to open the case back. In the process of fixing the marker, the two pegs that hold the dial into the movement broke off. I was still able to put the watch back together. One day the dial moved due to the lack of the pegs. It wasn't until this week (years later) that I decided to open it answer readjust it. However, I also noticed that the movement wasn't running. I tried to shake it and then wind it but no go. The date and time adjustments work, just not the movement itself. When I wind it, I can see two gold gears, and two silver gears (one looks like a spoke and I see it tick something) moving. When I spin the rotor, I can see two other small gold gears (directly under the rotor) moving and one of the small silver gears that moved when I winded up well. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be? I now that since I didn't use a tool that dust might have got inside. I really hope it wasn't that. Thanks.
  6. GL bergies. I never shopped with you before but will check out your new site. If I need suits, you'll be my guy! Everyone has good things to say about you.
  7. Eh I just purchased a UN from Watcheden. I made a post in the review section in case anyone wants to follow the status since I have heard on another forum of many complaints. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/154634-ulysse-nardin-and-box-set/#entry1187291
  8. You're balling. That's a really beautiful watch you got there.
  9. He's all out I can find Asia 21J at Andrew's for 128...but you said it was 138 for Asian ETA...
  10. Thx for the recommendation guys. @Ry & Noel: Saw some good comparisons with the PAMs but it just isn't my cup of tea. A bit too small. @cougar: That's a crz good price. Went to Andrews site and he has em for near $300. Any other ones? Not Rolex or any other common brands that people would know off the street. Basically, nothing that would question "counterfeit". Similar to the noobfactory Yachtmaster I got for $100 a couple years back. More accurate than the $290 I paid for a previous YM. Not sure if such deals still exist.
  11. Have been out of the scene for awhile. Looking for some good super reps that won't break the bank. Sub-300. Also, any idea if anyone offers a good Maxi Marine Diver rep, particularly the chrome version? All the ones from Andrew and PT have the clear back which is not on the gens. Thanks!
  12. Been looking for one that is close to the gen. Mostly all the ones I see are with clear case back (without the list of gold medals on the back). Does any good reps exist for it yet? Found these beauties @ watcheden but the case back... http://www.watcheden.com/ulysse-nardin-maxi-marine-diver-working-chronograph-rose-gold-case-with-white-dial-rubber-strap-i-40443-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.com/ulysse-nardin-maxi-marine-diver-working-power-reserve-automatic-with-white-dial-s-s-i-40818-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.com/ulysse-nardin-maxi-marine-diver-working-power-reserve-automatic-rose-gold-case-with-black-dial-i-41184-p-1.html
  13. @Katerchen What exactly do they do to get rid of it? Do I need some sort of chemical to polish it off? I tried scratching it off with a toothbrush and nail polish remover and nothing came off. @Kenberg Do you have Mother Nature Tiffany ring by any chance? I'm looking for another one that's why.
  14. Bought this Tiffany ring from a site along with other things and this is the only one that came out bad. There is a weird coating on it. It's supposed to look like sterling silver. As you can see the floral pattern is not affected, just the rest of the front. The inside and the sides of the ring look fine, its just the front. Here are pics:
