  1. Hey i have a graham chronofighter,.,. the crystal has some sort of blueish anti glare coating on it that has scratched and worn off a bit with time, how can I get the rest of it off so the crystal is just clear and smooth throughout?
  2. I can chime in and say he is right. I bought two 2-tone noobmariners from chris of eurotimez... and all the center links are in fact solid gold... not alot of gold there tho, the bezel is solid gold... and the end links are gold filled..which is so thick it would take daily wear for well over 20 years to wear off. You do get what you pay for tho. I had a 2-tone daytona I bought for like 120 bucks and this thing was garbage.. almost all the gold was wearing through at like 4 weeks. trash.
  3. I just got my new watch in yesterday from Chris (eurotimez) Watch is quite beautiful. Two tone watch, looks very classy indeed. blue sapphires at 12, 6 and 9 and diamonds on the hours in between. Quite similar to my noobmariner I also got from chris... solid gold links, (these are even thicker) and the plating on the crown looks to be thicker and better than on the noobmariner. Also, the date magnification is SPOT-ON.. ever so slightly bigger than on the noob. In any case, fantastic watch, if any more pictures are desired, let me know.
  4. Theres a few of these on the bay, and I LOVE them... have these been repped either in this form, or with a completely red dial also? Also, see the pic of the TT blue bezel with silver dial with blue sapphires and diamonds... is that repped also? I can buy the dial and have it put in my noobmariner id imagine but it goes for hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
  5. Agreed. I have a noobmariner TT which i love, and the crown has somewhat uneven plating... plus if you look at the inside edge of the crown, you can see where the plating stops. I already bought a gen crown and tube to switch out when I have the chance, and the Gen crown is slightly smaller but the gold on it is a sleeve of thick gold electro-bonded to the stainless steel, so it wont wear off for anywhere between 10-20 years if not longer.
  6. Precisely. Make it believable. Unless your income is over 100K a year, you generally cant pull off wearing a watch that costs more than 10,000 by itself.
  7. If he believed it was real, wouldnt Rolex have sent him a letter stating "You bought a fake. We aint fixin' it." When he sent it in to pay 1300 dollars and have the dial replaced? Also, to really pass off your reps as gens you have to have really good fakes, and make it believable. Im in a very high income bracket, so noone questions my one rolex and one graham. Also, another reason to own reps instead of gens.... every week SOMETHING happens to my tt submariner, wacking my wrist against a table, scraping it on a wall, hitting the rim of a drum with it, whatever. If I had put that many scratches and scuffs onto a real one... I would be on the floor hyperventilating.
  8. Some rolexes do hold their value and in some VERY rare cases increase in value, but 99% of the time from what I can tell a 5-10 yr old rolex gets about 50% of its original selling cost, still not a good investment at all. Some people use that EXACT same analogy with rolls royces, how they will only increase in value etc. Right... which is why a 1985 silver spur with 50K miles now sells for around $25,000....
  9. This girl I was . . . having as a guest over my house. . . right . . . . . . this weekend had a seiko watch she said her ex-husband bought for her for $500 bucks as a matching set to the one that he got, as a 2 years anniversary gift. I was actually quite impressed, it was VERY heavy for such a tiny, girly thing. Had a solid gold (albeit extremely tiny) bezel and crown. There was no second hand, just a gold minute hand and hour hand. Near the bottom of the dial, it read "seiko japn. mov't" whcih leads me to believe it is a mechanical watch. All in all, pretty dang classy....
  10. The lever on the left operates the stopwatch. The large second hand is stationary during regular use, and the chrono at 3oclock is the running seconds. Update on that skeleton tourby: I originally was displeased when I looked at the back to see the exposed gears and none of them apparently moved. I thought "its just there to look cool, but isnt functional. What a waste." Just yesterday night I actually took a closer look... the silver gears do move, but only when winding... they transfer to one another and wind the mainspring... the gold gears move, but they move with the minute hand... very slowly.. you have to watch for quite awhile to check its progress. So in the end, what a beautiful dress watch!
  11. Hey, just curious, but how much do these watches weigh? I have a skeleton tourbillon based on breguets and it is very light feeling...
  12. I suppose I should contribute. This girl pictured I dated for 5 years. We broke up last june, on good terms. My new girl I just started dating last week and hers are even bigger. (32DD)
  13. omg... Ive been looking for that girl for years... I found some pics of her when i was at college in 2003, and that was the last i ever saw... any more links to her?
  14. He's right. All gold can tarnish... just a light polish will clear it right off. My tt noobmariner has some heavy scratches in it, I used to lightly polish some of them out, now I dont bother. The way I see it, it makes it look more credible if some sees a scratch on the end links, centerlinks etc that go nice and deep and its solid gold all the way through. I should post pics of this.
  15. Bytor's "who has the best tt sub" review thread is a gold mine for you my friend. And FYI... I own both of the watches you see in those threads. Not just an MBK and Noobmariner, I own THE watches shown in those pics... I should be a celebrity around here for that alone.
