  1. Here's an image of a Z series Gen Sub: I know it's a photo and hard to be sure but the pearl looks much whiter than the markers and hands to me.
  2. I've definitely noticed this on my WM9 Sub. I have a Gen insert and pearl and the pearls lume is certainly more white. I think whitestripes is right, C1 vs C3. Pretty minor and I'm not certain it's really even a flaw...
  3. WM9/BK v2 Sub. It's the best Sub. I think everyone agrees, finally we can unanimously say that about this watch. If you swap in a Gen pearl (or insert) and a Gen crown, the only remaining flaws are the vertical crown position and SELs that are a fraction of a mm off. Mine is with BK right now getting a Gen insert and Gen crown installed. Can't wait to see it finished. Here's a link to BK's section: http://www.rwg.cc/members/BK-s-Watch-Garage-f196.html
  4. Here you go: BK/WM9 Sub I can, without a doubt, say it's best Sub out there next to a Gen. If you order from BK, it takes a little while... but again, well worth the wait. Also have him install his aftermarket crown. The one that comes stock on the WM9 Sub is a tad too big.
  5. If WM9 announces a DSSD, that's what I'll be waiting for. Their latest work is incredible. Have the BK/WM9 Sub and it's a work of art. They're really putting the time in to doing these right. I'm super impressed. Where are you guys hearing that rumor? If you're asking if you'd be "called out" on a v4 DSSD... tough to say. But it's certainly has it's flaws. If you want as close to Gen as possible, I would wait it out. Still has some pretty noticeable flaws for my eye.
  6. Looks great, Peter. Can't wait to see the one you're working on for me! I'll be ordering some more in no time.
  7. Have to agree with pfran... that looks like a $150 hunk of metal. I'm looking forward to a well done rep of the DSSD. Keeping by fingers crossed for some blue lume.
  8. Here are my preferred mods: 1. Gen bezel insert. Huge difference visually than any aftermarket parts... especially lume on pearl and the inside edge that meets sits next to the crystal. 2. Gen dial. Several reasons for this pricey mod. 1. Gen lume - 2. Date window is correct with subtle curved edges and correct size of opening - 3. Five minute markers are correct 3. Lume hands. 4. Gen bracelet/SELs or NATO strap. Rep bracelet is very good except for the SELs. If you can find the SELs, that would be ideal. 5. Repaint the case back text with flat black model paint. Then seal with nail polish. Works like a charm. 6. Trim CG's That's about all you can do to an SSD. As close to Gen as you can make it IMO. Total cost should be less than 1k. -kp
  9. Those Florida Watch and Jewelers Supply inserts look GREAT. Dropped them a line a few days ago about a 16600 insert. Hopefully they can get em.
  10. DROOL... Good luck! This has the makings of an incredible piece.
  11. I would assume the lume on the Euro's is identical to the Noobs since it's using Noob dial and hands. The Noob lume ain't so hot. @Dave R Looks like a "P" to me in the case back. . Oh... and "hello" everyone... I'm new here. Have trolled for awhile. Been over at RG for a bit.
  12. Hey all. I've been collecting watch's for a little under a year now... my God, talk about addictive. Been a member over at RepGeek for awhile and thought I'd come over and check things out. GREAT forum you guys have going! Already found my DREAM watch in the sale section. UGH. See ya around. kp
