Been called out by a fake watch dealer. He tried to sell me a canal street cheapo for $1000 and when I laughed at his price and pointed out inaccuracies that anyone with a fleeting knowledge of panerai would know, he said : "this is a good fake, not cheap fake like yours." I was wearing a gen...
Hmmm....if there was a shortage of space and someone parked like that, I daresay they deserve a scratch! I see a lot of those entitled kids here in the middle east. But of course if its an empty lot, it's a different argument.

Although I'm looking for the tells and I don't see them, apart from horrible photos.
The insert engraving is platinum not white and you can see reflective flecks. The dial has the correct 12800= spacing. The triangle is slightly curved. The pearl isn't that awful pimple that most reps have.
Anyway, if I can get it verified properly, I'll go for it, else no.

Got in touch with a massive dealer in preowned watches. They do verification, so I might try to get the seller there. If he balks, I guess it's time to keep looking.
Hmm, what's wrong with the insert? If you zoom in, it seems to have that platinum dust look...
The pics are bad, but so are mine in general and I'm considering buying it :-)
The pearl seemed weird to me too btw, slightly offset by the fact that the triangle seems good
Guys, wanted your feedback on this watch. It's being offered for sale, with box and warranty sheet, local seller. Seems gen to me, but would love to get the views of more educated members than myself.
Any input would be appreciated (and might save me from forking out $9k for a rep!)
Btw nanuq, youre quite the doxa expert i gather, so do you feel it's a good price? While as rare as certain rolexes, there is little comparison in terms of brand name and appeal. I've seen doxas usually trade for around 1500 or so, and this one has some aftermarket parts on it...just wondering if you feel that this would be an easy watch to sell without losing money after a year or so?

Say what you will about urwerk, but you definitely can't call them 'derivative'. Unlike our friends at Hublot, they actually tried a striking different design, with the mechanism to match. If I had crazy coin, I would buy this - wouldn't be my only watch though...

completely off topic, but how much below mrsp did you pay for the Hublots from your friend? Asking so I know the max possible discount if I decide to get one. :-)
