Hi,
Today I will share with you all the result of hard work ....
I make my own damascus buckle!
what you see in the picture is the prototype
As you will see from the pictures I have preferred the use of spring bars instead of the screw to simulate the buckle sewn (I really like the look of the old straps ..) and give the possibility to replace it and use it on each strap.
now I need your help and ask all your advice, what do you think?
here are some questions:
- "Could be successful in the production quantities?"
- "You would use to you?"
- "What would you change from an aesthetic point of view?"
- "What do you think the use of spring bars?"
thanks in advance for all your responses.
here are the pictures:
..and this is the result of much work.....
particular of the holes for the spring bars
measures:
and here it is mounted in some straps...
thanks for looking!
P.S. sorry for my english......... :undecided: my only help is google traslator:D
hi,
here's what I wanted to make. I wanted a strap similar to "Absolutely," and after several tests I made my version, I wanted to call it: "Simply"
It 'was carried out using a high-quality Italian leather boar turned and treated with special products.
here is the final result.
I'd like to know your impressions and suggestions.
thanks
regards
Spider
Hi Peter,
certainly agree that the buckles! especially if they are PreV, but really mean?
I use the leather, are usually very good in soft Italian leather calfskin, but I also use different vintage leather that I'm going to buy from flea markets, jackets, old bags, pouches for ammunition, and all I can find .....
the edges to make use of methods that my father taught me and then use the appropriate products.;-)
Thank you for your review Mahler's friend, was very kind!
The glossy effect is desired in this case, but many of my straps are opaque, have a look here:
