i am looking for a cheap ap roo quartz replica, actually it don't even have to be a replica i am ok with a homage or lookalike whatever you might call it. i plan on gutting the case and build something fun. however i love the look of the ap roo case so that has to be fairly accurate. as you understand this is a experiment and i might end up with a watch where nothing of what i intended to use fits (I know how to make/mod watches). So therefor i don't want to pay that much, looking for something under 100 $ preferred around 50$

I own slightly more then 50 watches and still i feel no use for software or hand writen notes to keep track of them. When i get into 3 or 4 figures in my colection then i guess it makes sense.

Curse word´s are pretty interesting it shows what is considered taboo in the culture where they are in use. for example most English curse words are associated with sex. Here in Sweden calling someone a "[fcuk3r" only means that person from time to time have sex. our curse words are usually associated with religion. i am only familiar with the Germanic languages so i am curious if the above statement would be true for a African language and what there curse words are... PS: Who gave Australians the right to call themselves the curse master´s ? I claim that title for Sweden

it is quite easy actually :-) when you buy the dial from Roland it comes with the hand all you have to do then is to attach the dial to a 649x movement of your flavour be it ETA, St36 or a old original Unitas (o yea it of course has to be the version without seconds pinion) then you put the single hand on the hour hand gear and put movement and dial inside the case and close it ! easy ! Here is a white Einzeigerit also comes in different colours. Link to rolands ebay listings these are top quality parts he sell, you wont find a case of the quality he sells so cheap anywhere else

i made this one a while back they are not that hard to put together yourself. I had to use a rad case since the pilot style case i first intended to use did not fit the dial or if you dont want to make the work yourself Roland Kemmner Aka erkahund on ebay has them but with a much better looking case/style

If you want to train on movement work a Asian 649x is a good choice since there are not so many parts and they are quite uncomplicated, and there is a excellent how to flash guide made by ETA themselves on how to assemble disassemble those movements http://www.eta.ch/swisslab/6497/6947.html also as stated before buy junk movement

Compared to Super lume, lum-tec or seiko monster wich are 3 that many use as a benchmark i would say better or equal. A strip 5*10 cm that i charge under a lamp for 10 sec is bright enough to actualy be use´d as a reading light in a pitch black room (yes i tried). but in my opinion ALL lume sucks ! To even be considered usefull i want it to be bright enough to easily read the time after 8 hours in a dark room (thats how long i sleep) and No lume even big brands have yet to work that way ! (other then tritium tubes but then i want doubles and they are also quite ugly)

I have no experience of 7750 but a seagull st36xx i think could easily be compared to a ETA649x i dont know about the Hangzhou variants for some reason i have got the impression That seagull makes the better versions. But for arguments sake lets say a gen is better . How much better do you think it is not much i might differ some +/- 10 sec a day. And on a watch you have to wind once a day you can take the time to set it to an atomic clock anyway ! Also on a pam clone with that mini second hand and indices every 5 min you will never ever notice it anyway ! And of course you can buy a new seagull st36 for less then it cost to service the old one. Also a gen 649x is really nothing special today if one wants a beautiful movement go fora Hamilton or a Cortebert or some other decorated vintage movement even gen 649x movements are as plain as vanilla ice cream now days
