  1. I have this watch. Definitely not a UPO so it won't win an accuracy contest. But it does have a few good qualities. The most notable is what By-Tor said - this one is more comfortable to wear. The UPO case is thicker and the bezel taller. This one hugs the wrist better and fits under a shirt sleeve easier. But the HE valve is too low, the crown is wrong (too narrow) and the lugs are too narrow as well.
  2. I believe Joshua has them. Go to the Omega section and then Straps and Accessories. It says it is for a 42mm PO, but I believe that is the one with 20mm lugs.
  3. I too have had good luck with Paul of late. Keep in mind he doesn't charge extra for shipping ($30 usd for Josh and Andrew) so his pricing is more than competitive. I haven't experienced any of the communication problems others have complained about in the past.
  4. Sorry, guys. I know of at least one customer of Precious Time who had their watch drop-shipped. My new Omega SMP black showed up today with all the usual "Made, Packaged and Shipped in China" markings. This wasn't a total surprise. I had to remind PT to send me the tracking info. When he e-mailed the number I immediately recognized the format. EMS showed it going from City of Guangzhou, China, through JFK to my house. No side trip to the UK. He was a little more expensive than others I have bought from, so I am not sure if I will use him again.
  5. I am a little concerned after going to Mac's website. It appears he is using watch photos from Josh's site. If you look carefully you can see the Perfect Clones watermark on each image (at least the Omega's I looked at) Doesn't mean he won't provide good product or good service, but it was a flag for me. Josh works hard to provide good service, and it bothers me a bit to see someone ripping off his stuff (though somewhat ironic considering what we all are buying)
  6. Does anyone know where I can buy a couple of 2836 movements modified for GMT function? I accidentally wrecked one and I have not been able to find anywhere to get a replacement. The movement I have is the GMT adjustable one (incorrect hand stack), not the not the one with the adjustable hour hand. I figure it would be good to have a couple on hand in case any of my watches with this movement develop problems in the future. Or is it possible to buy a regular 2836-2 and transfer the GMT hand gear from the broken one? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  7. In bed, out of bed, didn't really matter. Having the watch upside down I tried as The Zigmeister suggested to see if the gear was indeed disengaging. It didn't. I even tapped it a bit to see if that had any effect. The GMT hand followed perfectly. Any other thoughts?
  8. Thanks The Zigmeister - I'll try that tonight. If that is the problem, is a dial washer something I can get from a local watch guy or something special I need to order specific to the movement?
  9. I have an Omega SMP GMT with the modified 2836 movement, purchased from another member. The red GMT hand periodically stops tracking properly throughout a 24 hour cycle. I can set the GMT hand properly with the crown, with no sense that the gears are not engaged properly. When I move the hour and minute hands with the crown the GMT hand tracks properly. The hand will track normally for an hour (or three or six - it varies), then stop moving. I will then start back up again on its own later in the day. It stops at different points on the dial, so it doesn't appear it is catching on a high spot on the dial or anything like that. Any thoughts as to why this is happening and what would need to be done to fix it? I am comfortable with the thought of pulling the movement and the hands (just ordered the right tool for the job ) so I am willing to take a crack at fixing this myself. Or is this too risky and I should just send it out to The Zigmeister? Thanks for any advice! "Scotty" (no Trekkers, not that one...)
