  1. First time buyer here. Just ordered and had the same thought, but I know it's from Trusty and that they are reliable, it just caught me off guard and I was curious if anyone had the same thought I did
  2. Hey guys! Seeking to buy my first rep watches. I've looked into the community for a long time, read the noob guides, did my homework, but I still feel like I could use the extra words of advice before I make the plunge. Again, as I am a noob, I apologize if I am posting in the wrong section, rambling/making a gigantic post, or asking stupid questions. Anyways, I wanted to get a general consensus on the first three reps I'm considering. My main concern is that the watches I buy can keep reasonable time (at worst within a minute a day) and won't die after a year, preferably longer, with regular services if applicable. So the first rep I am considering is a Rolex Sky Dweller. I know it's a polarizing watch, but for me it is one of the reasons I became so interested in watches in the first place. If I'm buying one rep, it is a sky dweller. Here is the link to one I found that I really like (feel free to link me a better one if you know of one): http://www.pure-time.com/product/sky-dweller-326938-yg-brown-dial-with-roman-number-on-brown-leather-strap-a21j/ I've found footage of the watch on replicawatchvideo.com and it looks wonderful! I do not mind if I don't have the full functionality or poor functionality. Now the big question is which movement: 2813, 2836, or eta? Obviously cheaper is nice, but I want one that pretty consistently will last at least a year and keep ok time. The second one I am considering is an Omega Seamaster 007 series, http://www.twgtwg.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_83&products_id=747 The big seller here is the spiral pattern and of course 007 charm. There is a similar one on puretime too, but it's been sold out for a long time. It runs an eta 2824, so I suspect that this is a fine buy. But let me know If you see this design cheaper or have other suggestions Finally, I'm considering an AP Royal Oak Skeleton watch shown here: http://pure-time.com/product/royal-oak-jumbo-ss-black-skeleton-dial-on-bracelet-a23j/ I like AP, but my main motivation here was the skeleton design. I'm concerned about the A23J movement however, and want to know if it is a wise buy. I'm willing to buy other skeletons so if you have a better suggestion than let me know. *phew* that was long! Anyways, thanks for listening to my very long story. I'm pretty much in the dark as to whether I'm making the right choices here, so your help is immensely appreciated!
  3. I love all the technical articles on forum! makes me proud to study engineering! Maybe there could even be a technical subforum........ Would be interested in handcrafting my own movement down the road.
  4. Seems like the stuff I do at Ohio State studying Chemical Engineering....... But it's so fun to see my kind of work apply in one of the hobbies I enjoy you made my day!
  5. The nice thing about smartwatches is that the functionality doesn't matter so much as the phone does everything. If you buy it to look nice, as is why anyone truly buys a watch nowadays, they do the job Also, has anyone noticed that society as a whole has shifted from pocketwatches, which stay in the pocket, to wristwatches, which stay on the wrist, to phones, which stay in the pocket, to smartwatches, which stay on the wrist? *mind blown*
  6. The fact that this is a thing is awesome! But yeah, what nightwatch said. Doesn't look near the same yet (kinda bulky looking even), but things take time
  7. Thanks for all the help guys! I made a noon mistake and only searched when not logged in. I apologize for the stupid question
  8. Hello RWG! First time poster and replica watch buyer (other than a $5 cheapo rolex daytona I bought off the streets on vacation in beijing) I was wondering if there was a list of TDs (trusted dealers) compiled anywhere on the site. I tried to look but I was not able to find one. I am looking for a rose gold rolex sky dweller like this one: puretime asia.com/product/sky-dweller 326935 rg rose gold dial on rg bracelet a21j (replace the spaces with hyphens, I cant post links yet) I know puretime-asia is a TD, but I thought I would like to look elsewhere, maybe for a better price or a slightly different look. Thanks for any help you can offer! I am a little nervous getting my first replica and afraid of a scam. (side question: I know most replicas come from China. Delivering to the United States, how frequently is customs an issue? It is only 1 watch I am ordering, so I presume the chances of customs checking a very small package like that is very slim. I would like the delivery of my watch to be as foolproof as possible, with the understanding that the replica watch market as a whole is often sketchy.)
  9. Welcome to the forums bassboink :)
