  1. Can someone please provide me with a good link to a disassembly tutorial for a 16613? Can find it through search
  2. Can someone please help me identify this watch? I picked it up on CL today for $200. Obviously I know it's a 50th anniversary; but can someone with a keen eye maybe provide some insight on what factory makes this watch? And version? I've never seen this movement before either. I was thinking it was a 21J? (Doesn't tick as smooth as my other watch which has a clone ETA. Is this rep any good? Worth modding? Thanks guys.
  3. Sorry, I did indeed mix the names. I bought a JF. This guy: http://www.intime.co/rollie/2606-submariner-116610-ln-black-ceramic-v2-1-1-jf-best-edition.html
  4. I purchased a 116610 BK noob sub-C V6 a couple months ago....the crown clutch is slipping, the glidelock doesn't lock and the pearl fell off and is lost for good somewhere in my livingroom carpet. Last night I purchased the new LF V2 Sub-C - What parts should I cherry pick from each one to make the closest-to-gen rep? I know the LF bracelet is a nobrainer, but what else? which case? bezel? dial? the BK sub has a gen ETA 2836-2, so obviously i'll be picking that over the clone eta that comes with the JF v2. thoughts on other part mixes?...also, I know the JF crystal height is perfect, but the AR kills it...instant tell..the BK crystal sits high, but the AR isnt as obvious. is it easy to remove the AR from the JF crystal?
  5. I chatted with a gentlemen over on RWI who just received a Noob V6 from BK. It's an awesome watch. I tried asking around, but was unable to determine whether or not the crystal height was fixed on the V6. The gentlemen I spoke with was nice enough to post a side view of his watch for me to share: The crystal still isn't as flush as the gen, but close enough for my standards. and I believe there was mention about the bezel engravings still being not as deep as they should be. Apparently the only real difference between the Noob V6 and V5 is the spacing is the "300" and "M" on the dial. There's also talk about the bracelet being marginally better, but that statement has yet to hold any weight, as there's only like 1 guy over there who claims this. Noob V6 (top) and Gen (bottom)
  6. I tried searching and nothing resulted...I was just wondering if anyone on RWG has had the opportunity to purchase the new V6 Noob Sub-C? There are a couple people on RWI who have, but surprisingly not as many as I thought there would have been. I actually just sent payment to BK for one of his V6's, and I'm super excited about it. A little pricey, but I hear BK is the only way to go for this particular product
  7. They say HK Airmail is the safest way to ship watches the USA - has any of our stateside members ever had any issues with customs while shipping via HK Airmail? I know EMS and DHL packages get pulled for inspection all the time, how about HK Airmail?
  8. So, it was actually 2 packages that were pulled for inspection. The TD sent the first package, it hit customs, the online notification system notified me that the first package had cleared and that the next step was "proceeding to destination." At this point I had contacted the TD and gave him the green light to send the second parcel. Somehow, the second package caught up to the first package, and now both are being held. WTF. To anybody reading this, DO NOT green light proceeding parcels until you have the preceding parcel IN HAND (I learned this the hard way). After thinking about it, it was probably the arrival of the second package being delivered to the same address that shot up the red flag. luckily for me, Toro is an absolutely outstanding person to do business with, and he has informed me that in the event that the packages do not clear, he will reship using HK Airmail (which is the safest method for shipping). I will probably only be utilizing HK Airmail for all future purchases - out of fairness to the dealer (they really shouldnt be obligated to replace the goods - that is a risk we must realize as buyers in a black market hobby; we are very lucky to have this network of high caliber dealers). I too myself am a businessman, and I highly respect the TD and the way he deal with this situation, Especially considering I paid him via Western Union, and should he have decided not to reship - there isnt a darn thing i could have done about it. Im fairly new to this hobby and as an RWG Member - All I can say is you guys are great. Shoutouts to all the Admins and TDs for maintaining this neat little community.
  9. DHL says it's in New York . Why?
  10. That's comforting to know. Thanks. do you know anything about the internal customs policies regarding flagged addresses? I feel like once you have a package seized, your address would go into some kind of blackbook for naughty people, and would potentially put future packages at risk.
  11. Today I had my first scare with U.S. customs. I ordered a watch and had it shipped DHL from China to the United States...everything was going as it normally does. Last night, I received the notification that the package had cleared customs and was in route to destination. When I woke up in the morning, I had received another notification saying that the package was pulled for inspection. It was 5am, I'm already [censored] and I had pretty much given up any hope of ever getting my watch. I continue getting ready for work, get in the car and start driving to my office. As soon as I sit down at my desk, my phone beeps again - I received a 3rd notification saying that the package was cleared and released again and in route to destination. I'm no longer [censored] anymore, but still leary. The status still shows the package at the customs facility and delivery date as "not available", anyone have any similar experiences? For future reference, which TD would you say is the best in terms of compensating for customs seizures? Do any of them have a customs protection policy? Or is the risk always going to be on the buyer?
  12. Was looking at 2 subs on toros website: http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_115&product_id=1729 http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_115&product_id=1397 the J12 factory replica sells for $458, and the BP factory sub (with the cloned 3135 movement) sells for $438. Is there any obvious reason to pay the extra $20 for the J12 version? One thing that stood out to me is the color of the numbers on the j12s bezel; they look like a light gray as opposed to white. Is that normal? Which would you pick of the two, and why?
  13. One of the things I've noticed is that the reply box wont always open for me when I try to respond to a topic...all it does is show the box where you drop the attachments. Another thing is the "edit" feature will disappear after some time....Maybe this is intentional, but I think posts should always be available to edit! Often times I will post something, and then several hours later something will come to mind that I want to add to the original post, but it wont let me edit anymore...so I end up having to reply to my own topic in a 2nd post which looks sloppy
  14. Toro is pretty solid. I have used him a handful of times, and he has delivered great quality watches in a timely manner each time. I always ship DHL with him and the average delivery time from placing the order to receiving the package is about 3 weeks. Some models of watch take longer because he has to wait on the factories to deliver them to him. He pretty much hit the nail on the head with this. In summary, you cant go wrong with toro. I highly recommend him. Don't worry if he doesnt get back to you right away (especially after you've already paid him); he will always do you right.
  15. Also, here is a side-by-side photo of the decorated movement vs. the non-decorated (big difference!). The diameter on both watches are 41mm...the only difference is case thickness. As stated previously, the decorated (right) is 1.2mm thicker than the nondecorated (left)
