  1. I would have to agree. Removed a CG from an A and also got 48. The PVD crown is from a DSN .... also 48. I have a call out to the master who will tell me if Panerai has used the same factory for the crowns.
  2. Here are shots from a J series HW and Auto. HW 48 Auto 48
  3. I've taken a pic that I hope may help. Top is an auto, bottom left is an A HW, bottom right is a B HW. BTW, I really don't care how many teeth they have so long as it fits properly.
  4. An S? a PPK--------S? You've not learned yet young grasshopper! LOL Really, GREAT review and a decent weapon. Come to NJ and we'll go "Shootin' Boy" Hope everything is good son, hope Dad and GF are well. BTW, We'll go to the range on me if you're ever in these parts. Best, Your Uncle Jay
  5. What a great time I had gang, you guys are great. It was nice to see some of the faces from the last GTG in NJ and to meet even more fantastic people. I have to say that there was a good turn out of ladies as well, not something seen at past gatherings I've attended. I have to say that parting wasn't the only downer to the evening. I did't notice that you couldn't park after 11 on 8th, so my car was towed. Finally tracked it down (not an easy task, I must say that it's easier to find a NOS '60's Submariner at an AD) at about 3AM. But, this morning it all seemed a dream and could only think of the coversation, camaraderie, laughs, food, drink, and watches. Price of ticket, tow, cab ride, and aggravation of getting your car towed in NYC = $500 Price of meeting the best people (especially the notorious Stephane) from RWG = PRICELESS. I hope we do it again soon.
  6. It was a labor of love to say the least. Congrats and wear it in health.
  7. It hasn't been easy OS, but I'm only missing the dial for the 232 and the dial/hands for the 249. My even try for the 262 (Tobacco Cali) dial to have the trifecta. I'm glad I've learned how to work on the hand winds. Being able to switch dials/hands allows me to have 3 watches for the price of one. I'm going to have a custom box made that will hold the watch, extra strap, two dials, and one hand set.
  8. That's a great look. It's actually the basis for my JayTech III. I started planing JT III as soon as I finished II. My plan is to make a proto in rep then make it with gen parts. I also want to try it with the 249 Cali set-up as well. I think it would look good in a 47mm Fiddy case. JT III Proto: 127 Rep case eBay hand set 232 DSN dial Swiss Gruen 6497 mvt JT III Final: PAM0127 case PAM232 hands PAM0232 dial Pam0000 movement
  9. Beautiful piece. Please share with us what parts and mods were done. I made my "PVD Logo" back in 2001/2002. She was originally billed as JayTech II, but was later christened the "PVD Logo" by Philippe Bonay. I miss my baby and wish I had her back.
  10. Man, you guys have some great avis. May I ask where you found the one you use?
  11. That's a GREAT one, just [censored] my pants.
  12. I wouldn't worry, not with Old Salt, Johnny Reb, and The Big E. That's 270 + aircraft alone! It may mean trouble for the other guys I really can't see 3 Carriers being deployed for an exercise, just doesn't make sense. TCB Big E!
  13. This little known beauty is a HOT watch. Measuring a whopping 48mm with a Ti case and Platinum bezel. Only 50 pieces were made. The watch was shipped with both white/black sub and green/black sub dials. The strap is made of Kevlar/Coramid and uses a Ti buckle. I really wish the collectors would produce this monster. It happens to be my personal Grail watch. Wouldn't you want one too?
  14. Hello, be careful. The screws are not all the same size. Some of the screws are longer. Some will fit the thread but be too long, others will fit in depth but will thread loosely. Remove all the screw and replace them one at a time starting with the longs screws first. I believe that the long screws belong at 8 and 2, but I really don't remember. Let me know if you have a problem and I'll remove my bezel and take pics for you.
