  1. This particular tool watch is the diver worn by French Oceanographer Jacques Costeau in the 60s and 70's; if I'm not mistaken.
  2. Good day members, Here’s my honest and transparent review of our very own AP guru and RWG crew member Legend! I’ll keep this a short and to the point as possible. I’ve never been an AP guy and my eye has always been towards Rollie’s and PAM’s until.......BAM! The release of the AP forged carbon and ceramic rep models. I was reluctant to purchase any AP as the price does not match my profession alas we’ve all had or seen this discussion on the forums. I fought the urge for a few years, yes a few years until recently I found out the Noob V4(supposedly the most accurate)was discontinued by the factory and only available for purchase M2M. I found one for sale on RWG and the journey began. Once I received the watch I simply could not take it off my wrist! It was the most comfortable and light watch I’ve ever worn! The stealthy black carbon case with splash of yellow is just plain sexy and screams renaissance man! Then tragedy struck! The deco rotor plate broke☹️ I replaced it but found the screws were stripped from previous owner and the movement was shot![emoji33][emoji37] So my dilemma was to find a forum Watchsmith that would work on AP’s. In comes Legend! After researching all forums I found his specialty was modding APs to gen like status. Contacting Legend was a breeze and communication is very easy, concise, and to the point! He explains in detail very well. Off I ship my watch overseas and the wait begins. Legend evaluated my watch and gave my a complete breakdown estimate of work needed and optional mods. To be completely honest I was surprised by his prices and thought they were on the expensive end but after his explanation and reviewing the going prices of a Legend modded AP FC Diver M2M I realized his work is “Legendary” and as always you get what you pay for! Legend was very honest in his assessment of my watch and what he thought I truly needed and didn’t need. I opted for the case polishing(bring out carbon pattern per gen), Omega datewheel(better font), rebuild of the A2824(dirty and to much oil), screws polished and rethreaded, and pressure testing. Legend takes great pride in his craft and wanted to make sure I was truly satisfied with the final results of my AP FC Diver. My Diver before Legend mod I received my watch back after a little over two weeks from Singapore. Legend does pay return ship and offers a six month movement warranty. All I could say was WHOA!!!! The watch is gorgeous and his rebuilt A2824 runs like a dream! Well over 42 hours power reserve, though I haven’t timed it. After Legend mod! Off into the sunset with my Legend modded AP! So much for the short review! My final take on Legend’s work. He is a master of his craft and takes great pride in his work along with customer satisfaction however be prepared to spend cash but the end result is well worth the price of admission! Enjoy to the max! Blessings, Indy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hello all - This is my first post ever. I want to purchase the absolute best AP Diver Rep that is available. I have heard InTime and PureTime (not sure which dealer is better???) are the two best dealers. I am looking at these two watches: http://www.intime.co/audemars-piguet/1627-royal-oak-offshore-diver-swiss-eta2824-v7-.html http://puretime01.com/watch-brands/audemars-piguet/royal-oak-offshore-diver/royal-oak-offshore-diver-11-v8-jf-best-edition-on-rubber-strap-a3120.html# They both seem okay - the decoration on the movement isn't the same as a GEN but the rest is okay (I wonder why they are priced differently). Can anyone recommend the BEST dealer or best place to buy a SUPER rep. I am willing to spend up to $700.00 on one. Thank you in advance to whoever helps me out here!
  4. Hi guys, Perhaps you know but I'm a big AP fan I just took some pictures of the Audemars Piguet Diver 15710ST. It's a great watch and it just looks different like all the AP Divers out there. I especially like the black minute hand and the black lume on this white diver. The big question is, would I pick this white dial diver over the black dial diver? As much as I like this "look" I still think the black dial diver is the one for me. Enjoy the pictures!
  5. Hi Guys, just found this auction on Ebay for a (stated) original vintage Omega 120 Divers from 1960. Don't know much about this model, never happened to see one in the flesh so any help will be highly appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance for your help! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1960s-Vintage-Omega-120-Divers-Watch-31mm/131648237576?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D9d524d5ade3343d781d5f7f2a47e184f%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D131648237576
  6. How does it fit? Any extra gap at the endlinks? Does this JF bracelet http://www.torobravo...product_id=1166 fit well a V5? There are any other bracelet versions for the Diver available? Thank you.
  7. Hi guys, it looks like a JF v8 version for the AP ROO Diver has just landed on Toro's. Does anyone know a little more about? Description doesn't really help figuring out the improvements over the v7...neither do the pics could be just me though http://www.torobravo2015.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1723 Many thanks!
  8. Thursday I received my FC Diver Noob v4 from PureTime. First off, I'd like to thank Angus for picking out a nice piece for me. This is my first AP and I love it! The carbon pattern is awesome and shines when hit by direct light. The ceramics bezel is even more awesome and has hundreds of different colors depending on light. The dial is nice, crisp and clean. Overal build quality is what to expect from Noob, rock solid. I have a 6.25" wrist and have mounted the XS strap from JF. I had to redrill the strap holes because it didn't fit. The standard strap also fits my wrist, but needs the tightest hole. Now I'm using the 3rd on the XS. It's probably not perfect, but I love it! And I'm looking forward adding more AP's in my collection
  9. Hi Guys, just wanted to share some pictures/comparisons of the various fifty fathoms collected. Thanks for dropping in to take a look
  10. Hey Gents need your help. I've never owned an AP and never been a fan til the recently released Carbon Diver and Bumble Bee. My dilemma is which one do I chose! I'm a diver and already have a nice collection of dive watches but am always still drawn to them. On the other hand I never use the chrono features on any of my chrono watches but do think they are very appealing and eye catching. I don't want two AP's so which one do I chose!!!! Based on over quality and looks give me your thoughts fellas. Thanks!
  11. Gents, I have a dilemma, tore down my fc diver to clear some dust from the crystal. Once the movement was out I noticed the seconds hand was slightly bent to the left so thought I'll pop it off and straighten it out. Needless to say its bloody snapped I should have left it alone as it was barely noticeable but typical me, once noticed I'd always focus on it so had to mess it up didn't i. Hopefully one of you guys can help me? Does anyone have a spare or swapped out fc diver handset?? Really hoping someone can help as my beautiful watch looks rough as hell now Thank you in advance
  12. Hi guys, any chance the experts know whether this watch exists/once existed? Been searching through the web but cannot find a trace.... http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=910 Thanks
  13. Here is a few shots of my new donerix shark strap on my project X diver that i received today. I think it looks really classy! PS I'll try to get a wrist shot with it soon. Getting a bit late tonight...
  14. Anyone have Hublot Diver 4000 parts???? Seems the black rubber crown piece w/ hublot "H" logo fell off my crown and I have no idea where???? Before After
  15. Hello everybody! I am about to buy my first rep but I got this one problem. My wrist is pretty tiny (17cm / approx. 6,7-8inches) and I am affraid that watch such as 44mm ROO would look really silly when sitting on my wrist. You with 44mm ROO's or 42mm Divers and wrist close to mine, could you please post a wrist shot and help me? Thank you!
  16. Just got this in the mail today! It feels and looks absolutley amazing! Thank you Toro! Feels like i managed to get pretty decent pictures aswell for once Behold:
  17. Hi Guys I'd like to start out by quickly saying what an amazing place it is here at RWG! Loads of great people with a tonne of knowledge to be had! I recently joined here at RWG because, while i love watches, i know that realisticaly i will never have the cash to own and enjoy some of the amazing pieces of horological delight that so often shows itself on my PC screen!! It is, therefor, perfectly understandable how i found myself becoming interested in the Rep scene. When i first joined, i was looking for a Sinn diver to try out for my first Rep purchase. Sinn, while not as expensive as some makes, is currently outwith my price range for a Gen example, and i have always admired the simplicity of the designs. So, i finally decided on a Sinn U1. One of the nicest looking divers from their current range IMO. I chose my dealer, and after some emails, and chatting to Josh from PC, this little beauty arrived at my door about a week later........ After unwrapping the watch, which was excellently packaged BTW! I was really quite surprised at my initial impressions. First thing i noted was the weight, nice and heavy, felt like a quality timepiece when i first picked it up! The 1000M rating (of the Gen) is quite evident in the weight and thickness of the caseback etc. After getting over the great weight to this piece, i moved on to the case. The case finish is really superb. It has a blasted stainless steel finish, as per the Gen. I believe the Gen uses Submarine grade Steel in its' construction, and while this is probably not the same grade of material used here, it certainly looks and feels very similar to the Gen. The crown also has the "S" logo and operates very smoothly indeed. No play when pulled out to adjust the time/date either, and nicely finished to match the rest of the case. The next thing that really impressed me, especially when you actualy have a good look at it, was the dial/crystal replication. The dial is really excellent. Text, logo & markers are all superb. They really do look spot-on as far as i can tell. When you couple that fact with the double AR coated sapphire crystal, it really does "POP" and gives a fantastic deep black effect to the already wonderful dial. The watch came presented on the Sinn rubber strap with deployment, push button clasp. It also has a diver's extension for a wetsuit. The caseback is also well finished. The markings are perhaps not quite as deep as the Gen, but it is pretty close to it. Like most Reps, there are different movement options for this model. I chose to pay the extra for the Swiss ETA 2836-2 powered version. I have no means of comparing this against the Asian powered model, but the ETA version i have is curretly running at -5 Secs per day. I think this is more than acceptable, and i am very happy with the timekeeping abilites. This is a 28800 BPH movement and the sweep is nice and smooth. I believe the Gen is powered by the ETA 2824-2, so not a massive difference here as far as i am concerned. Onto the Lume...... This is, IMO, the weakest part of this Rep. Don't get me wrong, the lume isn't terrible, in fact, it's pretty good actually - but it is nothing like the Gen! The lumed hour markers are good and bright, but it is the hands that let it down in this area. There just doesn't seem to be much lume on them at all! In all honesty, while i am a bit of a Lume junkie, this is not a deal-breaker for me, and certainly won't spoil the enjoyment of this piece at all!! To conclude then, i think this is well worth the money if you are looking a Sinn or even a good tough tool-diver. Loads of style, very accurate movement and looks when compared to the Gen. Feels great on the wrist. Also offers loads of custom looks with different strap options (22mm lug width on this one). I have to say, as this was my first Rep - i am really blown away by the overall quality and attention to detail. It has been on my wirst every day since i got it! Thanks for reading my first review of my first Rep purchase!
  18. Does anyone know if this watch is rep'd? Been looking for this for awhile now, but can only find it with a cheap quartz movement. http://usa.hermes.com/jewelry/watches/clipper/configurable-product-w-clipper-chrono-diver-maxi-28170.html
  19. Gotten myself a V4 Swiss ETA with rubber strap few weeks ago. Just ordered the V4.1 Swiss ETA with SS bracelet and was hoping to alternate between rubber and bracelet without the hassle of switching. So happened now that the SS bracelet is not available till a couple of weeks time. I am thinking, if indeed the V4.1 is a better choice, I will let the V4 go to any interested parties and buy the SS bracelet separately. What are your thots, please share? Here are the QC Pics. for V4.1 The below are V4 QC Pics
  20. I promised Devilseam to take few photos of my new diver which i picked up from him today. It is truly Super Rep and the gen steel bracelet takes it to new level. Thanks for watching and thanks to J for beautiful watch.
