Looking for my first IWC 3714

I'm looking for my first IWC, and I love the 3714.

 

I'm still a noob here.

I have 2 watches up to now...A rep of the Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 and a Gen Tag Heuer calibre 1887.

 

And I would like to know if this one

30 dollars between both. Why ?

 

I've already buy my rep Tag Heuer to Joshua, he gives good communication and QC pictures.

it's the same watch. It comes from the same factory, Josh just capitalizes his reputation as a trustworthy dealer. 

 

One note though: please search the forum for reviews and opinions of the 3714 movement, you may find it not as favorable as you may think.

I know the problem with the movement issue and already send a message to a watchesmith which is called Domi.
Probably you know him here.
I've read that he can fix it with a new modd and servicing.
Could be a good idea, isn't it ?

It is said that adding jewels on certain (metal-to-metal) points will reduce the total friction, which otherwise (with dirt and tear) will overcome the power of the driving train. Sounds promising and many report good results, but I don't think there are any actual empirical evidences / "proof" yet. If you like the rep, try it! Due to the high variation in build quality, some of these reps work well after a year while many others end up dead within a month (just from what I understood here on the forum).
