PilotI
if you were to buy a hands removal tool, what would you go for? Looking for something that does not damage the dial. Many thanks in advance!
B3nj4min3
I've been using hand removing levers like the ones found on this page;https://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/tools/hand-watch-clock-removing-and-fitting-watch-dial-tools Specifically the levers sixth down on the page, any that look like this; The spring actuated ones are also very good however I've never tried them but I have heard good things; Just make sure you use a dial protector or a plastic sheet to protect the dial from getting scratched. This video below shows how Mark removes the hands from a watch (at 2:24) Hope this helps mate.

SSTEEL
Great video that. Anyone know what the name of the tool Mark used to extract the bracelet pin after he pushed it partially out?
B3nj4min3
Thanks SSTEEL, I think it's called a Pin Punch. Here's one on eBay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251290251248?lpid=83&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83
SSTEEL
Thanks Benjamin Ah, just looked, not that part mate, the red tool he used to physically pull out the pin from the bracelet, after he pushed it out partially. SSTEEL
Just heard back from Mark on the red coloured tool he used, and got this reply.. Hi Michael, it's a regular pair of end cutters where I have filed a groove in the jaws so as not to damage the pin. A pair of snipe nose pliers will do the same job. offshore
We have those hand removers at Watch Bitz, for just a couple of $$. Best if used in conjunction with a dial protector. http://watchbitz.com.au/shop/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=358 Offshore
B3nj4min3
Ah, sorry SSteel, I misread your question last night. I blame my bloodshot dreary eyes for that! Thanks for the link Offshore, that's a great website with excellent prices! Will be trying it out
fraggle42
Hah, hadn't even considered just using a thin plastic bag over the top of everything to remove the hands. Looks easier than fiddling around with a dial protector!
