  1. I was recently very fortunate to be able to buy an older MBW from a fellow member, best of all it came with the original hollow link 93150(got some small stamped WSO endlinks on the way). The previous owner had previously sent it to Pbdad for case mods and a beautiful vanilla re lume job on the dial. But it needed a little TLC on arrival so off it went to Mr steel for a spa break in Finland. Full strip down of the movement with a replacement part required. Re polishing of the top hat plexi and a nice case clean up and a pressure test to confirm the Watch was water tight . As always a prompt professional job by M. Funnily enough I was never really a fan of these plexis back in the day when I wore a gen 5513. But it's funny what age can do and I can't imagine the 1680 with anything else but the slightly strange high top. Well it's now my daily beater and put into service like all of the original tool watch rolex's from the 1970s. When they made watches for men? who did dangerous things! Enjoy the pictures Dh

  2. Amen brother. I wear my frankens with ETA movements mercilessly, as tools, as designed by Rolex. Unfortunately parts for the gens are getting so hard to find, they get little use now. I saw a set of NOS reversing wheels for my 1030 at $530 and that sorta opened my eyes!

  3. Just an heads up, we will be moving back to our much larger premises on the 28th of December, as such I'm starting to wind things down as of tomorrow. Its been a challenging year in this small place, having to work in such a small workspace, so really looking forward to getting back into our newly refurbished larger property where I can resume working at full capacity again. If you have recently shipped a replica watch to me, or have anything with me currently, these will all be completed, and returned to their owners well before Christmas. I will be back at work end of January 2017 as I'm undertaking a workshop remodel. Thanks.

  4. So busy looking at that gorgeous timepiece I didn't even notice there was no firearm in the picture Here's mine, notice the rail below the barrel where all kinds of cool stuff can be fitted (flashlight, red dot or whatever you'd like) - probably never will but the option is there...

  8. I agree fellas on the insert and although in photos the insert looks sage in person it looks very much emerald and brighter not dark st all. I'll get another photo tomorrow when I am out in better natural light. The V7 does look very much gen like or as best as you can get without going gen. i have not been able to get my hands on a Gen insert. I have gen GMT bezels and inserts and a few gen LN inserts, but I cannot come across the Gen Hulk insert. If I do I will buy it on the spot, but until then the V7 insert will have to do, I think it's much nicer than the V6S as for the crystal ? Already have one just have not had time to install it. Waiting on the V7 to arrive to do it all at once. And yea yea it is a costly build and some will say if they go that far they would buy the gen etc... but I can go out and buy the gen any day and probably will, but the fun part here is building something as close to gen looking as you can. For some odd reason that feeling gives a sense of accomplishment lol ? Thanks for for the input fellas ! Cheers !

  9. You've spent so much money so far but the single most important part when frankening a hulk is gen bezel/insert. Without that it will always scream rep. Gen xtal being the second most important Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. 2 cent worth from a Noob (me) it's important to get the bezel color right - emerald green, not sage green. Most of the rep hulks I saw have a darker green bezel I hope your incoming v7 bezel has the right color All the best to your new built Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
