Hello everybody. I'm still getting notifications and thus I'm visiting from time to time. But I must say my life has changed totally since I got sober (5 years ago) and broke (2 years ago) ! The brotherhood of RWG helped me a lot 2 years ago when I couldn't even imagine having a simple job back. You guys gave me a couple of watches and hundreds of euros that kept me alive till I found a job. I'm back on track, a radio presenter job during nights and weekends, still sober, publishing a blog about my alcoholism. I earn a very nice income, live in a nice flat and eat more than enough. I don't have the financial power to buy reps (and certainly not gens), but I'm more into spiritual living than I was before, so all is fine. Great to have news from you guys ! Keep safe, Stephane1 point

* Where I am in life... work is incredibly challenging, incredibly dangerous, and the b@stages keep trying to promote me out of the job I love to do. I have a good woman at my side, everything else is secondary. * Status of the collection... too dang many watches. I'm up to 18 and I'd be happy with 6, just the vintage gens. * Milestones... my daughter finally met a man I approve of and they were married. I walked her down the aisle, and whispered in his ear "tag, you're it". My boy is a firefighter in Kotzebue, above the arctic circle. I couldn't be prouder of him.1 point

It’s only a conflict if you care what others think about you and how you live your life. Do YOU like it? Then what does it matter how the next guy feels about it? “Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like.” -Will Rogers I know you’re smarter than to fall for that B.S.1 point

Just wanted to share this one with you, if you've been on here a fair amount of time then you'll remember when these was released. Can't remember what factory made it but it was in the good old days when some of the early reps were so close to the gens it was scary. A nice genuine Swiss eta 7750 lurking in mine.1 point

Stigma? Wear it proudly.........I believe this is one of Rolex's finest designs. Great wrist presence, performance and classic Rolex look. Great at the beach or in the boardroom.1 point

Yes Ubi, my E31 is black as well. No doubt it is torture keeping them clean! Keeping them in my garage helps though for sure. The 911 has had a recent full windows/trim/insulation out respray. It wasn’t what I wanted to do initially but when in Rome, so to speak. I’ve spent 6+ yrs restoring/improving/modding every last bit with the car. There’s nothing left to do but drive it like a bat out of hell. The organic nature of no power steering, no computer assist of any sort, no power brakes etc make the car very much behave like a wild horse. If you’re good to it, it will reward you beyond your wildest dreams. If you’re not, it will throw you clear off its saddle in a heartbeat. There’s nothing like it & it’s incredibly addictive to drive. Hope to pick up a daily 997 or 991 similar and as lovely as yours. I’ve been casually searching. I would opt for pretty much exactly what you’ve elected to do: keep it simple. I guess my ideal contemporary would be the 991 Carrera T Cheers my brother, happy open roads!1 point

Therein lies the problem. The 1530 movement is thicker than the 1520. I don't think the Phong ETA case is going to work either. A 1530 is 5.75mm in height, the 2824 is 4.7mm and the 2836 is 5.1mm.1 point
