  1. I was in the hunt for a nice 1675 or 6542 for a long time. As I am too ungifted to build a watch from scratch I bought some builds in rep fora but while they were optically nice they were all mechanical nightmares. Recently I stumbled over the Key West and took the plunge. It flew in yesterday. The whole quality of this watch, case dial, bezel, hands totally exceeded my expectations. Very nice.

  3. You missed the point about perhaps using technology. If someone 3d scans a gen. case, and CNC machines are available through online hub where you upload the 3d scan, and as long as we can input what threads and pitch to cut.... Your cost is low. We have or nearly have the tech.

  5. "She explained that the entire UK dealer allocation was for 15 submariners. I said I'd wait and take a look at one at the airport, but she said Rolex tend not to push subs to airports. She then cheekily suggest that my best option was to choose from what they had in stock!" Certainly the allocation for the whole UK wasn't just 15 subs- that would be crazy! Maybe the AD you went to was a small dealer and didn't rate a better selection. I'm with QueTip- dealers talk caca.
