  1. Well, I bought a black dial pre-Daytona 6238 a couple of weeks ago from Josh on a whim. http://www.pf-818.com/watches/rolex/daytona/vintages/stainless-steel-collection/0-0-0-0-0-0rldv00115-6238-ss-ss-black-asian-venus-75-h-w.html?___SID=U I put it up for C&R sale, but there was no love for it. So, decided to mod it instead The Cartel sub-dial hands are just too thick. I bought a thinner set of 0.26mm diameter hands in white, carefully removing the the paint from the hub with acetone to get a look closer to the gen. I stained the lume of the hour and minute hands ever so slightly with coffee and painted the tip of the large chrono second hand too. Cartel sub-dial hands ...new thinner gen-like sub-dial hands During the movement removal, the L-shaped lever that allows the positioning of asymmetric pushers fell off, it was just loosely glued in place. After cleaning I used JB Marine Weld epoxy to hold it firmly in place. Needless to say, the lower reset pusher will only be used sparingly in future. I guess this is a problem applicable to all Cartel Daytonas with the Venus 75 movement. Rather than the squarish Cartel crystal I went for a Clark T21 crystal that is slightly more rounded, lower in profile and generally more vintage in feel. Next step was to shape, soften and age the case to give the watch an appropriate patina. ...and finally on the wrist with a period Perlon strap.

  4. @FakeFinder I have deleted your posts and given you a week of suspension to cool off. What happened outside RWG between you and @Accutronitishas zero bearing here. Please play nice, both of you. No more trolling and a ban for Fakefinder would be next if this keeps up. For Accutronitis, the next flame post against Fakefinder would earn a time out. I think that this is a fair warning for both.

  7. The rep makers are getting so efficient lol I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  9. And now they look even better... Correct gloss coat and white paint filled indices for a much-much better lume look and lume strength.

  10. The following is meant to be constructive and helpful, so I hope it appears as such. I have read pretty much this exact post more than once before. You should be aware that many of us are on other forums. I am on TZ-UK, WUS and MWF for a start. This feels like you are still trying to out shout those that have disagreed with you. This is a replica forum, I imagine most members could care less about authenticity of hands. So instead please tell us perhaps how you came to be so interested in Accturon watches, how you acquired this piece, tell us about repair, service and parts availability of the movement, which actually is interesting and has a place in watchmaking history.

  12. Thanks freddy, those were the good old days I suppose. Everybody carried rifles or shotguns in their vehicles, not for protection, for hunting. After school, walk a slough and jump shoot a few ducks, maybe pot a couple of squirrels or rabbits! We were outside every waking moment, and we didn't need 3D video games to keep us busy, our dads saw to that!! And you best not think about getting in trouble in school, first the principal was and expert at corporal punishment, and then when you got home, you faced the wrath of mom and pop!!
