  4. I have the gen of this and it's lovely. I also had a rep with a closed factory case too, which has been sold back to the previous owner. @deandavis like @Sogeha said, it maybe best to franken one yourself (or have it done by someone else). If you can find a blue Bond rep then you are off to a good start. There are lots of people building Seamaster reps, including the 2254, from the newer ceramic Seamasters because the HEV is in a better, more gen like, position. Parts such as inserts, hands and sometimes dials can be found on eBay or if needed at Cousins. @SSTEEL here maybe able to help with the build - he's built several of mine for me with great results. Good luck.

  15. For subdial hands go with rep ones. I do not see the value of having mikey ones as well. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  19. None of the aftermarket hands today stack (pun intended) up to gen hands. The gen hands in the stainless steel models are crafted from white gold. The shine and finish from any angle is inimitable by any rep or aftermarket hands, Mikey ones included. The "pyramid stack" that my friend @QueTipspoke of is another tell for the newer generation ROOs. The F series ROO gen hands are closer to what Mikey hands are emulating. The G series onwards have the distinctive pyramid stack, polished to a high gloss and beveled perfectly when stacked. This is again missing in the Mikey hands. I agree also with quetip that the Mikey hands are proportioned differently from gen hands. In addition to what he has said, the stem connecting the hand to the hands base looks different in the Mikey version. In short, there is simply no substitute for gen ROO hands. The differences are both subtle, and yet glaring for those who know them. H series gen hands. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  20. For the 15400 rep, it is generally very well done, and one of very good quality to be honest. The thickness would not be an issue on the wrist, as a salient portion of the extra thickness comes from the caseback and most of the time, this is just not noticeable on the wrist. The thickness is apparent when the watch isn't worn, and placed side by side vs the gen, on the table for example. The only real issue with the replica, in my opinion, is the datewheel font. I would prefer an A2824 movement transplanted to the watch, and by doing so, aftermarket datewheels like Edge's or the omega datewheel can be used. The JF V2 15400 is an excellent choice and currently the best on the market in terms of case construction and finish, which is mostly what this watch is about.

  22. Partially true. ETA had a serious go at stopping selling, but although supply was limited they were available. Then the economy and the Swiss watch trade went into decline and ETA started selling more freely. None of which matters though, because if you buy a genuine Swiss movement fitted to a Chinese replica watch it is more than likely a used unit pulled from an old watch and fitted with a mix of used and Chinese parts. Not worth the extra money, stick with a Chinese ETA clone, they are not bad at all, though sometimes a little dirty. If it does break there is always the option of fitting an ETA replacement movement sourced from a reputable parts supplier, it is of course a direct swap.

  27. Of course it is, of the hundreds of concerts back in the day (in my youth) nothing ever blew up it's about time to wake up and take of the gloves. Do you think I mean mean the UK military or mine no , it's up to good Muslims to fight to get their honor back and stop these indiscriminate killings there is no honor, no religion of any kind in this you know this. My boy fights for you will not you have the courage to fight for yourselves I must ask ? Do not be afraid there are so many more good good people among you unite, only you can stop these atrocities from within. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by watch it happen and do nothing.

  31. It would not fit a miyota movement so if your 15400 is using that, it would not fit. It can however fit a 2824 movement. I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

  32. That's soo hard...from this point you had no chance to know that he actually wasn't the legit owner of the watch. I wouldn't have asked for more proof too to be honest. The only way to avoid something like this in the future is what they already have over at RWI. For each and every sale a sales thread has to be opened...no matter if it is a sale between friends, a WTB or any other form of sale. If the seller doesn't want to you can be sure something's fishy...
