  1. Yes I agree! The new sales advert m2m is quite dreadful! The old system was better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. I am sure this new forum it is much better for browsing if you learn how to use it properly, it has lots of new features and functions, but it is impossible to please everyone. From a vendor´s perspective from my experience, I´d say people don´t use social media to login to these kind of forums, specially Linkedin because for some people being in these forums is worse than getting caught watching porn. There should be a moderator on duty who helps to put TD´s website up to date in the section, I see that nobody cares and people just go to another forum to look for that info. Greetings everyone from the Great China!

  6. I agree with everything so far. Additionally, posting seems to be slow, even from the old guard here. We need to get the band back together, man! In all seriousness, activity will ebb and flow as life gets in the way. If just seems that this ebb has occurred simultaneously for a lot of the main members that would typically drive conversation here. At at the end of the day, it's all of our responsibility to keep the board alive, both from a financial perspective as well as content. The above is a good start.

  7. Bring back the old, more intuitive, M2M sales section format. The new version hasn’t added beneficial functionality. It also requires a workaround of double posting images in the “Watches” thread as well as in the “Classifieds” to reach the Tapatalk audience. Bottom line, a more intuitive M2M sales section will reinvigorate the forum.

  8. I would like to contribute to the forum but with a monthly cost for VIP makes me hesitate. I think more people would contribute if it were cheaper and in that way the forum would get more active. Maby@tomhorn is on to something? Please dont change the colors. I like it when things are just the way its always been.

  10. The V6S that I picked up, the one that had the real LV bezel, and the owner had the real hulk dial that he had not installed yet, is not bad. Someone took the time to engrave it. It has tones a good things. Few things were mis represented but that wasn't the fault of the guy I got it from. He was told that the crystal ring was real. The bezel was, but he said the bezel never rotated right. Well the nylon washer was pressed on the noob ring. I don't know if you guys know what the difference between the noob and the real rolex crystal rings are? I can post pics, but lets just say that the real rolex crystal ring, the top is skinny and that is where the nylon gasket rides on and holds on too. On the noob its the opposite. The top is larger on the noob and the bottom is where the noob nylon washer fits. That is why if you look at a real bezel assembly the washer is higher and smaller than the noob. But someone pushed this sucker onto the noob one. Now normally you can sand down a noob crystal ring and get the real bezel too fit the tip of the the noob one, or just replace it with a real one, which what the prior owner was told was done. But all in all the case is a very nice V6S, well engraved 3135 case. It has a real crystal. It came with a very nice actual Yuki that Craig serviced and it has a full auto winding bridge and rotor. It is running very well. it has a real 704 crown. It has real 97200 bracelet minus the clasp. Which is a bonus. I just ordered the 116610 hands yesterday I should have them Tue or Wed. Only thing I am wondering is if I should throw in a real 3135. I think I will because I want too keep this watch. I love my 116610LN. So I am going to put in a real crystal ring, and real bezel and the real dial. The only thing on it that wont be Rolex would be the nice V6S case and the clasp. Fun Fun.

  11. Thanks guys! Bart - Your 6538 build is probably what made me realize that I can get a very good result at a high but not astronomical price. Less than a Kingston at least, which is what I had my eye on before I found these forums. I actually got interested in dive watches from wearing a Benrus Mil-W plastic US Army watch for a number of years and then noticing the Benrus Type 1, which I think is an amazing looking watch but turned out to be too big for what I want to wear daily. Thanks for the info on the bezel teeth, it makes me appreciate what I have a lot more. Looking closely on mine there are tiny irregularities on each tooth so that it almost seems hand-cut to me... which is just hard to fathom, that level of craftsmanship. I hope these guys have decent working conditions. And good eye, the second hand is not from JK. The tail on their seconds hands is too short so I went with this one, which I believe came from my Silix build. I have a nice trimmed HR big ball hand but it needs to be relumed and I haven't ventured into luming yet. Incidentally, probably 95% of 7922 and 7924 I've seen use a gold, big ball hand. I did not do too well on these hands, they're unevenly sanded and more silver looking than gold, and the lume isn't too convincing. But I don't want to bother with others until I can get a full 13mm minute hand and an hour hand with just a bit longer "trunk" portion below the ball. These seem like the most elusive parts of the 50s sub builds.
