  4. Enjoy it as it is for the low price. As long as it runs it´s fine. In the near of far future it may be handy as a training watch, before trying things on more expensive models or parts.

  8. When I bought watches on a whim, I also got desillusioned and tired of them. With learning the "do Your research etc. stuff" I´m already in love for 8 to 10 weeks before even buying. Well sorted quantity (40 to 60) does have a lot of privileges: none gets too much use so all of them do work; it´s difficult to get tired; it´s easy to always fall in love again after a pause. Less than 15 nowadays sounds like sacrifice. If money, space, time spent etc. are of no importance: a minimum of three and maximum of twelve (per brand ) is a good housenumber imho. Usually every 2-3 months I´ll pick some others to wear several weeks in a row, together with the favourites.

  9. I installed one of the functional Yuki valves for bro. woof a long time ago - exactly like the Rolex item. It was a bit nerve-wracking but I got through it. But, it's not a project to tackle with a hand drill unless you are going to "cheat" like Automatico did!

  10. I first try to pop the bezel off by placing the watch on a relatively soft surface (pine wood board etc), leaned slightly toward the front side with the crown up. Next, push down on the case with thumbs on each side of the crown hard enough to push the slack between the bezel and case to the up side while also pushing the bezel away from the case...and awaaay it goes. Usually. They fall off easy enough on their own so it does not take much to pop one off. Pop one off!

  11. Thank you, yours is not so bad either Same specs nearly. Reworked Cartel case and bezel by a vintage master. Gen Dial, Insert, plexi and crown. Yuki 7206 modded bracelet with a gen clasp. Low beat ETA. It was tripdog's personal 5513. Here she is again. It is probably my favourite watch.

  12. I think there's no "should" in this. I saw pics of whole rooms full of displays for watches. My favourite had five of them, 30 watches in each. I guess some watches might be for special occasions, some for SPECIAL occasions and some just for collector's pleasure of owning them. I guess that's what makes our hobby superior to owning gens. I don't have any high-priced gens, so I just think that saving for one, buying it and so on... it kinda obliges you to worship it a little. And here comes the question. To wear it daily or not? What if you get tired of it? It's not that simple (at least as far as I reckon) to change it for money or another watch, as it is for a rep.

  14. I bought this watch in January in m2m on RWG. it is the Trusty Time model equipped with an ETA 2836-2 movement Titoni modified to have the GMT function. She had gone into the hands of RolexAddict for his work as usual modifications. To know : - Complete case and crown guards reshaping according to gen 1675 models, - Re-drilled lug holes to allow the use of gen Rolex springbars, - Bracelet end links modification to allow to fit gen Rolex springbars, - A thin and flat SS brushed case back, - A small arrow GMT hand, - A Clark 25-116 GMT plexi, - A 1675 insert at the right Rolex specs, - A pair of genuine Rolex thick springbars, - Date wheel overlay fading, - WSO Insert fadded, - Waterproofing 3ATM. Not bad but I expected a better job at reading the praise for RA. I hardly ever wore this watch, and you have guessed why. The dial is one of the baddest with that unlikely crown and 3D indexes glued. This is perhaps why owners has changed three times in three months before I acquired it. Since I was at the beginning of my experiments creation gilt dials, I left aside to focus on my other projects. This fall so I took the time to take care of the dial, and it was not easy. It is much more difficult than for a simple dial without date. I could not find one that is suitable in my batch windows dials. In fact, the diameter of the central hole should be wider to the pinion GMT, good size and in the right position date window. Another problem, all these dials are "modern" Rolex rep with glued indexes that reveal a more or less large hole when they are removed. Obviously these holes did not fall in the right places compared to the indices of my decals. Arrrgh! Only solution, fill the holes with solder, sanding, then cover everything with gold leaf. It was a first and I can assure that it is far from easy. You know what happens, a decal, several coats of varnish, sanding after some less successful layers to eliminatesome defects. Then applying my vintage recipe lume on the dial and hands. Thank you all for reading to the end, and for the purposes observers there is a little fantasy to discover [emoji6] Kenavo! [emoji632]
