  3. Found this article on the internet. Nice to see some special Rolex.... Order a Domino's Pizza, earn a Rolex. Of course you shouldn’t take the title of this article literally but it is a fact that Domino’s Pizza (DP) rewarded her managers who had the best results during a four week period with a Rolex Air-King which had the DP logo on the dial. This ‘Rolex Challenge’ took place between the 1970s and 1990s. A detailed picture of the DP logo on the Air-King dial. The black, circled ‘R’ means that the logo is a registered trademark Several versions of the Air-Kings with the DP logo have been issued over the years. During the last five to ten years the DP logo was on the bracelet of the watch, at the ’6′ hour position. With all respect to Domino’s Pizza, it is still a mystery why Rolex made the deal to produce a special version of the Air-King for a company like this. For instance, a deal with Mercedes-Benz would make far more sense and it’s no surprise that several jewellers had their name on the dial. What makes the whole case even more interesting is the fact that Rolex even produced the dials with the DP logo. A jeweller like Tiffany & Co had to put their name on the dial by themselves. The Rolex history is filled with watches with a company logo on the dial. Coca-Cola, Anheuser Busch, Tide and Honda are examples of the variety of companies that have rewarded their staff with Rolex watches. When keeping in mind what status Rolex has and the whole aura surrounding the brand all these company logos on the dials look odd and make the watch look cheap. Hopefully future company watches will only have an inscription on the back. SOURCE: http://www.rolexencyclopedie.nl

  4. It has taken a bit of time sourcing parts.. All the parts to build the dream. But I got there and I done it for a lot of 1000's less than buying one. Its all genuine but it never left the factory with any of the parts it took to build. These are still £6k upwards. I cut the price in half. By building it from scratch. It was an ARF but not a single part of that is left. Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk

  7. Yes they can do the test in-store. They didn’t charge me as the machine wasn’t capable of reaching the 300m required by my watch. Sorry I didn’t ask the price b

  14. Same here, my eldest is launching into a doctorate with groups lining up to hire him, and my other is climbing the corporate ranks like a Roman candle on steroids. All I can do is stand back, try to stay out of the way and marvel.

  15. Hey guys, I’m genuinely touched by the sentiment, but in the words of the much loved and twice dead Neil “ain’t ma birthday”. I have one coming up next month on WUS, I think. Google saluted me on the 1st April and many other fora and websites have random dates. Because this place is close close to my heart it comes nearest to the truth. Subtract one from each column 😜 Seriously I see the usernames and I do count you guys as friends. I know most of your real names as you know mine, I’ve seen pictures of your children. I am truly blessed to know you and many other great guys and even a couple of girls in this hobby and it remains a joy to be here. Oh and @nanuq I don’t need to get younger, I’m beautiful as I am. However I sometimes wonder about what kind of a World you mere humans are going to leave me and the cockroaches.

  16. Hi guys, I haven't been on here in years due to just life responsibilities. I joined back in 2006 and was fairly active for a number of years. Really got to know some wonderful people. During my hiatus, I finished medical school - 4 years, did an internal medicine residency - 3 years, worked as a hospitalist for 1 year, and now moving to do a fellowship in pulmonary critical care - 3 more years. I hope everyone is doing well!!! I spent a lot of time on these forums!

  17. Step away from the watch website. Lay down your credit card. It's okay... just come over here to the relaxing music. Deep breaths... calm deep breaths. You don't want to throw out your buying arm in the first week!
