  4. Is it true that the traditional 16610 style cases have been discontinued in production in the replica world and also as sterile cases? Just as I was winding down, a family member asked me if I could build him either an economy replica 16610 or a 14060 but neither raffles nor Yuki keep them. I noticed that even the eta 16610lv case set on the Yuki site states "ceased production". Has as anyone been successful in obtaining them anywhere and if so, could you PM me if posting the source is against the forum rules. Thos new chunky ceramic bezel styles just don't do it for him!, I can't say I am all that impressed with them either!!!

  5. Here is a pic of the Red. (Entirely high end rep parts) As you can see it needs a gen 702 also. If you run into someone who has a few let me know.

  6. Movement materials are quite a jump over SH3135. Nearly all gen parts do work. Some of the bridges were a bit of a struggle to fit. Gen autowind is a straight swap. Not sure about putting in a gen balance. I really don’t see much that needs upgrading besides Autowind, jumper for minute counter, setting jumper, setting lever. Only downside is the build QC of the movement. 2 of mine came with rusty autowind parts. One was seized and the rotor didn’t even wind. One click spring was snapped, one setting lever busted, so... yeah.

  7. The SS version isn’t in a great case, the gold ones are. One of the brothers is currently working on establishing what genuine parts can be fitted to the movement and what is a necessary or desirable upgrade for reliability

  10. Apologies, like any group we fling shorthand, acronyms and weird numbers around with abandon. So glad you asked instead of just being mystified. Hey @LifeTrekker throw a picture of your new TC up for @mzinski will ya?

  12. "Rolex has a uniquely stringent view on what qualifies as an illegitimate Rolex. In their view, any modification to a watch making it appear other than it shipped from Rolex’s factory renders the whole watch counterfeit. This is their view, whether the replaced part or parts are aftermarket, or original Rolex parts. Change the bezel on DateJust from fluted gold to a Rolex stainless steel bezel? The whole watch is considered counterfeit, unless you pay a Rolex service center to change it back." According to that, a huge percentage of formerly 'genuine' rlx watches are 'Officially Counterfeit' by decree. So...one burning question comes to mind. Why not buy a 'Real Counterfeit' to begin with?
