  1. Can someone tell me who makes this sick brown strap on the pic? The thread starter has not replied to my PM. Maybe is not around right now. I want one. Is that Bakeka straps by any chance?
  2. Love the straps. What are they? Love the dark brown vintage.
  3. Any issues with TC eta clone compare to BKs builds using Swiss eta? I read somewhere that rotor could be loud on TCs and seconds hand sweep is not as smooth as BKs Swiss eta. Is that the case ? I still have BK noob mariner with Swiss eta in it he was building few years back and still love it. The winding of it feels great and solid, changing time hands feel nice and tight too. The seconds sweep is smooth. I am thinking of upgrading to TC v6.
  4. I have been thinking of getting the HBB SS with SS bezel for a while now. But still a little confused about which one to get. At first I wanted to get the Lite and get Chieftang to put double AR on it, and get it from Angus, plus they updated the writting on the rotor to be thinner and more like gen, but from the pics I saw it is missing the H on the movt now on these 28,800 movt. After speaking to Sead, he said he can get me that watch as well, so I would rather go through Sead. The Double AR version are just $200 more, and I don't know if it is worth it, and it would be $100 cheaper to do it with chieftang. Now I saw that the new dealer PWC has these for $269 with single AR I believe, but with 21,600 movt (supposely the new 21,600 and not the old ones that were problematic), and the movt has the fine adjuster regulator, like gen rotor berring, the H on the movement but thick stickers on the rotor, which I think is the worst tell. So did any one get these new 21,600 HBB watches with the updated rotor berring, regulator, etc, and sourced the good rotor with thin markings from cartel or elsewhere and replaced it on the 21,600? Any thoughts on this 21,600 movt HBBs, reliable or not, etc?! Because if I go with cartel version 28,800, I will need to get the H sticker for the movt, fine regulator adjuster, and the rotor berring?! Any input is welcome.
  5. Here are pics of my very soft comfortable OEM look TWB calf for $40, stitching is better then BOB and Panatime straps I bought before and chose to send them back for rufund, but still want to try Bob Marino collection califs for $85 after reading a review on them on panerairesource, they seem nice on his site pics with vintage stitch.. Here are my new TWB shoes: Compared to bulky 5mm SC Legend II I just posted yesterday this is so much more comfortable to wear, I might get a tan one from them too.. Any thoughts on a very comfortabe out of the box 3-4mm calig, gator, ammo straps from some good makers, I have a list of like 14 top makers that I was suggested by peeps on risti.. Holla
  6. I have a Black/silver dial BCE V3 on its way from Angus on SS Bracelet and wanted to get a Gator or Calif strap for it in black with white stitch. I can't afford OEM calif or gator, so I wanted to go with gator GRAIN or calif. Which maker has better quality and closer to OEM look, BOB or Panatime. I have returned BOB Sportivo and Panatime REAL gator back due to some issues on the stitch part. But I read many good things about BOB gator grain straps, and Panatime has some Hadley Roma Black gator straps at $110: Hadley Roma Black gator grain is $40 And these are BOB's gator grain and calf straps at $32: What you guys think? Who has any experience with these, so far I am leaning towrds bob's Calf..
  7. After doing research on straps, both OEM and Aftermarket I came up with these dealers I would like to deal with: 1.GSD 2.Ted Su 3.Simona 4.Savage 5.TWB 6. Dirk 7.Don 8.Micah 9.Heroic 10.Kaktus 11. Strap Works 12.Strap Culture 13.MF 14.Bob In not this particular order. After receiving my first strap over $100 that I decided to keep, it was the SC Legend II at 5mm. The strap looks nice, color wise, but it is a thick strap, that is not very comfortable to wear, compared to TWB Calif black/white stitch I have on now as I type on my 001B. And I have a 4.5 Heroic coming on its way. I thinck I want to stick to thinner 3-4mm straps, OEM calif, gator and after market calif, gator and ammo. Which makers have the softest out of the box leathers 3-4mm thick, so it is very comfortable to wear? I might be selling SC Legend II if it does not feel better in a week on my hand, the buckle and the 2 pockets on the strap look massive, I like it one minute, and not sure the other. I heard GSD straps are soft and 4mm, not sure of Simona and others, please post some pics and thickness numbers of your straps and how comfortable they were from start till now.. No low end stuff please. The least expensive I would consider are TWB, Bob, and Don califs... My Sc Legend II This my next one on the list, this hide if I can find it, GSD prime lite:
  8. thanks guys, but I like L SWISS L and C3 lume look better.. they came with both on 001B.. I just sent the watch back to Vac to get the lever pin shaved and flatened..
  9. I finally built my PAM. I sourced the caseback from Angus and Vac built and supplied the rest, it was not cheap, but I think well worth it, please be the judge. I always wanted a simple dial PAM, but 111E or H show the movt which is not near perfect and a big giveaway and 111H has the problem with L Swiss Made L being to close to 6, so after reading and looking at posts by other PAM freaks, I decided 001B would be the closest to gen you can built, so I went with Vac, since his come with C3 mix superlume, and he is one of the best arround and I know my watch would be built with care, here it is: Here is my only concern, if you look on these pics, the case between the legs where the strpa connects has a slope in the middle o both sides perfectly positioned, not like gen or any other reps I have seen, I questioned Vac and he said all his cases that he has in stock are like this, to accomodate a thick strap, does anyone have this type of case and is this a big deal?
  10. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been on these forums for awhile now, and in this rep game for at least 8 years before I found forums. I started buying best quality available reps on Canal St NYC years ago. From what I have read and saw with my own eyes is that Panarai forum and its following is by far the largest on any forum, and there are so many PAM geeks trying to buy those good PAM's, but they all have more issues and defects then Rolex and Breitling super reps still. I hope dealers are watching these forums and super PAM 1:1 reps are on their way, it only would be a good business decision for them to make as many PAM super 1:1 reps from GEN as a sample, and instead they come out with Corum, U-Boat, Grand Carrera, Graham etc. super reps, that have a very small following if any, most people just buy them because they are the closest to gen outhere, and nothing else good is available. BCE, Skyland, SA are all great super reps and I am glad they make them, they now need to make Navitimer and Navitimer World super rep as well.i But I think dealers would make more money selling 99% acurate 111E-G+,112, 005, 196, 88, 127, 217, 104, 183, 190, 233, 232, 177, 253, 000 to name a few. They need to make movts for open case models more acurate with bridge stamping on E-G series and on H+ series movts. I mean come on, they can make a BCE with a lot more complex dials so acurate and so close to gen, and they can't get the font size and spacing right on 104 and 111 dials?! How hard would it be to make better bridges with better blue stamping of OP on H series movts or like gen stamping of E series movts on E series movt using high beat clones? I just hope they are making these movts as we speak to put in these reps that are now out of stock due to movements shortages, otherwise they are missing out on a lot of cash from us. It takes a good crown, super C3 lume, correct crown and CG with flush lever pin and correct casebacks on them and sell them for $450 so you do not have to do any mods after sale, people would scoop them up like hot cakes. Chime in if you have any inside info on super pam reps coming up, since I see Cartel is pumping out new super reps at least one once a week now.. How is with me?
  11. I sold my 6.75 with Black face on SS bracelet and with updated Darker Maroon date that I got from Andrew to get a BCE. I love the BCE but miss thr 6.75. After Dave told me to look into the white face version, I fell in love looking at the GEN photos with white face, now would like to see the white face REP pics. Please show me good macros, or good quality wristies of the white face and black face on leather strap, that is what I will get it on, I think it looks better on leather and wears more comfy, BCE on the other hands wears a lot more comfy on bracelet, but I also have a black rep strap for it, like I posted in my other strap.. Here is a pic of my old 6.75 I sold and a GEN pic of the white face I found:
  12. guys, i am more active on rep geek then any other forum, because i like their calm blue background... lol.. just kidding.. what has not been mentioned here is that the dollar got week compared to euro and all other asian and european currency, so dealers have to adjust their prices as well.. so who are you prefered dealers guys list them in order of how you rank them..
