  1. Hi all, the long-term members and collectors might remember the first so-called super-reps, when the factories began to replicate in much better qualities and attention to detail. Among others (some of them rather non-luxury brands like Sinn U1 or the unbeatable Steelfisch Superocean) I am still owning and liking my Bvlgari Assioma AA44S rep with swiss ETA. It is a great timekeeper and -of course- an uncommon dresswatch as an alternative to my sport models. It seems that this watch is out of production for years. Here are some pics of my AA44S with anthracite-colored dial taken a few minutes ago. As far as I remember there was one with black dial out, as well? Maybe you like to post yours?
  2. Hi all, after pausing for a veeeery long time I am back to my watch hobby and the first watch forum I joined 16 years ago😁 I believe I am in need of some updates. Many years ago I purchased some Breitling reps and had them modded eg. by The Zigmeister. All of them still wonderfil watches. Currently I am considering the purchase of a Breit Avenger Seawolf w black dial and stick markers on steel bracelet, 2824 or 2836 preferred. I noticed different models and makers on the TD's websites (GF, B50) but from my point of view it is difficult to decide which one would be the best. In my eyes the so-called GF factory seems to be the closest? I am appreciating your hints, thanks a lot!
  3. Hi all, having been away for a very long time from the forum... In my watch box I found my early batch BK DSSD (noob with swiss ETA). Dial and hands have been relumed some years ago by a kind guy on another forum. Unfortunately I don't find my conversations and can't get into contact. I really love this bulky and reliable watch despite of the obvious flaws. But now I notice that the bezel is turning in both directions. I guess the spring is flatenend. As I am going to install a new ceramic insert (sourced by Josh) it makes a sense to remove the bezel and fix the spring. Does anybody know where to get an appropriate spring which will last for the next years? I remember the existing one like a very thin sheet metal. Furthermore I'd like to ask you for your ideas of modifying my DSSD slightly (I wont build up an expensive super Franken). I am attaching a pair of pics for you. For example the deep engravings are bothering me a bit. Can these engravings be filled up with black matte lacquer and sanded down afterwards (I know the crystal has to be removed before). Thanks for your supprt, all the best
  4. Thanks fo that information. I agree we are nitpickers in the forums whereas at least 95% will not even know which brand a watch is.... But here the crystal is bothering me and I will try to get it modded somehow. Overall it is a nice and solid sports watch and a gen crystal propably would be the right choice. So I am going to dive in the rlx forums, now. Thanks agan!
  5. Okay I see. Do you know where to source a genuine x-tal?
  6. Hi all, I took a loooong break in collecting watches so I did in participating in the forums. But recently I purchased a sub-c noob v5 116610LN from toro's special offer. The watch arrived a few days ago. I am very pleased. Crown screws in butter soft, date changes exactly at midnight with a little `click`and the movement is running +5 secs a day so far. Not bad I think. But I am a bit unhappy with the crystal. As I am not that Rlx guy I did a lot of research in the forms before I placed my order. I read about the high quality of the "v5" and therefore I bought it. But the mag is too blueish in my eyes and there is a glare on it depending on the angle of light. As far as I know the genuine crystal is ar-coated inside and the mag outside. But here it seems that only the mag is coated with something very blueish... Furthermore in a certain angle the date seems to be a bit distorted/ deep/ dark (please see the pics). And of course the crystal is a bit too high. On can easily see the edges above the bezel insert. I did my homework and found some ideas how to fix the high crystal in the forums. The noob factory seems to use a gasket which is 2.7mm high but 2.3mm seem to be right. Can the flater gasket be used or will the crystal come to close to the hand shaft, then? The gasket swap will bring the crystal deeper, okay. But how will it affect the mag "issue"? Will the date be seen clearer? Did anyone here do that mod? I am appreciating your help, thanks in advance! PS: There is a dealer on the bay selling sapphire crystals for the 116610LN for 35 USD. he promises that these have no glare/ lens effect. Did anyboy try these before? On to the pics of my new girl on the block (there is some dust on the crystal, sorry):
  7. Hi all, I recently bought a Bulgari Assioma rep (m2m deal). That's a wonderful watch, accurate and heavy. Equipped with a swiss ETA running like a champ! Unfortunately I am in need of a single bracelet link because the bracelet is too tight. Watch is out of production and dealers can't source a single link as well as an entire bracelet. Perhaps there are Assioma owners having links removed and could offer one link to me? I am appreciating any help! Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi all, having been away for a while but now I am back to rwg and my rep hobby. I wasn't a huge Rlx fan so far but my interest in the datejust 2 with 41mm case is growing. I read tons of information here and over on rg and rwi and come to the conclusion that the so-called thai version would be the best choice. I love the blue dial version and hope to get this watch one day. But what about a black thai version? Is this existing? I mean with the correct width of the date window? I am happy for your replies!
  9. Hi all, having been away from watch collecting and from the forums for a loooong time. As I liked the DSSD much and already owned a V3 or V4 (can't remember exactly) which has been given to a friend I pulled the trigger and picked up a BK noob and a BP (both m2m deals) recently. Because I took that long break in my watch hobby there is a lack of knowledge, now. But I went for these two versions because these are recommended in several forums. The issue: The BP crown thread is stripped. I took it to a local watchmaker who was willing to examine a rep and he told me that he could source and replace a tube but not the crown because it is a rep. By the meantime I contacted a number of TD's but none of them is able to source a crown (crown/ tube set) for the BP. As an alternative I applied for an entire crown/ tube set for any other DSSD rep (noob, ultimate) but no luck so far. Does anybody has got an idea how to solve the prob? I already thought about a dissection of the BP and building up a Franken of BK noob and BP but in fact I would like the BP repaired. BTW: Does anybody know the ref. no. of the genuine dssd 8mm crown in steel? Thanks in advance and: Good to be back!
  10. Really? Broke? For that price I'd assume a better quality. Did you get back to the dealer?
  11. These paneray croc straps are driving me crazy. I simply love them and I am spoilt for choice....
  12. That's a nice chrono and it was on my wish list for a while. But because of the sunken date I backed away. I wish they would replicate an accurate 7754 movement some day as they did for the 7753.
  13. Pete, thanks for your input!
  14. Pete, you mean I'd better go for the noob factory 005? What are the main differences compared to DSN's watch? Which one is closer to th ereal deal and why? Thanks for enlightening me
  15. Hi forum, just noticed DSN's new born 005 H. What do you guys think? Is it the same league like the noob or H factory pams? I noticed that there is a difference in the case back engravings especially the serial number seems to come up at DSN's version whereas the noob / H pams look more 'flat'. I appreciate your comments. Thanks a lot!
  16. Hike: Thanks for the tutorial. Great job. Checking the seals is always the first job I do after receiving a new rep. If seals and some grease will make this baby a watch which is good for some water sports I think I will pull the trigger and place my order (x-mas is coming soon)
  17. Nice combo. The ss bracelet makes the Santos a watch. I am after the Santos chrono with 7753 and ss bracelet. Had a look to the gen at the AD store: Great combo! A true quarterpounder
  18. That diver is on my wish list, too. But I am upset by that thread, now. Most of us are very used to watches and there even was a "cartel-thread" a few years ago discussing QC among others. So I think the most of us can judge a watch as well as the dealer`s ads. So how do you judge this Hublot diver issue? Do you think the dealer's blurb is just another case of warm words? Or is that model basically a good watch with some capability to become a reliable item after some service work? Is only the watch described here lemon or the hole series due to production issues or what ever?
  19. HI, I noticed DSN's pre-v pam 001 and I am considering a purchase. As far as I can judge that rep looks very close to real deal. What do our experts think about the accuracy?
  20. Pete - you are the man. That's what I have been searching for, thanks!
  21. Hi Forum, I might be wrong but I mean to remember a thread here or over on RG or RWI describing how to make an e-series movement (the old one with the panerai engraved bridges/ plates) looking closer the real deal (brushing the plates/ bridges etc.) . I did the search but got no results so far. I would appreciate it if you could give me an input
  22. To me it doesn't sound like a great deal to be honest. 190 euros is some money... Just be patient and wait for a modded one in the sales corner.
  23. Hi members, I am considering the purchase of a Sinn 6100 rep. Does anyone own that watch (rep)? I would be happy for a brief review or just sharing some experience. Is that modified asian 6498 reliable? Or will that modification cause trouble? Thanks for your support
  24. Hi forum, searching for a PAM202 slytech chrono I found this site: http://www.minuteswatches.com/panerai/slytech-chrono-black-auto-7750-pa252-p-160.html Shot them an inquiry but didn't receive a reply yet. Did anyone purchase from that shop? Any information is appreciated! Thanks!
  25. Thanks for that advice. But as far as I know the stainless steel cases do need some modification/ brushing/ polishing as well??
