Short answer. No. Somewhat longer answer. The A7750 with seconds at six is a known problem movement. You can get lucky and have one that runs well for awhile, or it may crap out quickly. There is a 21j Asian movement model that needs the center seconds frozen which is reliable, but you lose the chronograph functions.

With the way current Rolex parts prices are now, it's much more difficult these days to come in under $1,000 for a DateJust that was all gen except the movement. Would be doubly difficult with an ETA movement and if you were doing one with a WG bezel (16014, for example).

+1 IMO, I wouldn't wear one either, and I still don't think there is a great rep of the YM2 yet. Given the complication of the countdown timer, there might not ever be a great one, only marginally good. The best version I have seen was the one sourced privately by a member Ijw73 over on RepGeek (http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=234625) that had the working countdown timer and the "no date" dial. They weren't perfect either, but seemed to be much better than the other versions. From a quick look at PT's site, I don't think any of his models is the one I am talking about. His A2813 has a center seconds that moves with the seconds at 6 according to the photograph. I don't think it's the same watch.

Vac, PBdad and Cwazy (RWI) all do good work.

One thread was probably enough for this question. If the TD's you have messaged say they can't get one, then they aren't being made anymore (or never were). All of them have access to the same watches for the most part. I don't recall ever seeing one offered, but I don't follow IWC that closely. There is the 42mm version (3227) that you should be able to find.

Review of the New 29j Daytona Movement
tomhorn replied to Francisco's topic in Francisco's Reviews And Tutorials
No, and this movement isn't new. Francisco wrote this review in 2009. Francisco was pretty clear in the OP, which you must have missed. CONCLUSIONS. There are no more jewels in this mechanism. The improvement consists mainly in employing skeleton gears to reduce the rotating contact surface. The transfer for minutes is better designed that the seconds transfer. The seconds are always running and the design is still very problematic. Although there are improvements… definitively this is not a long life mechanism. -
Which GMT?

How is it possible I am the first LV .... :/

I haven't done much research on the YM, but assuming the gen crystal fits, you are looking at around $600 total for the parts and labor to do it all. Right now, in the US, I would probably send to PBdad, as he can get all the work done together. Also, just a tip, make sure that you re-lume both the dial and hands, so they match.

Both of those sites are scam sites. There is no such thing as a Swiss replica, or an Austrian tourbilion movement. If you actually got something even resembling what was in the pictures, I'd be shocked. Regardless, it would be made in China and with a Chinese movement. Go to one of the trusted dealers listed here and try to find what you are looking for.

Franken 14790... Is it reasonable/doable? Which mvmt?
tomhorn replied to rillz's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
The movement to use would depend on the what the case is built for. If the case is built for a 2836, then the 2892 isn't going to work (for example). I have no idea on the hand sizes for the gen hands, so it would be hard to say if you could use them on an ETA movement. They can certainly be broached or crimped as needed, as long as the sizes aren't too far off. I believe in an ideal world you want the MBW as your base, but they aren't made anymore so you'd have to find one in a M2M sale. -
The base watch is only $549 (plus you have to have an iPhone). Still too much, but people will pay it.

We have an entire section with Trusted Dealers. You can buy from any of them. You're kidding about the UN I assume. You will not find a "nearest to gen" replica of the $450k UN ATG. I'm sure someone will make one, but given the tourbillion movement and insane decorations, you're not going to find anything other than a mild representation. As for the Sub-C, do a search and you will find everything you need to know about the best version.

Interesting. My v1 dial doesn't appear to have that problem.

The reason it works for two days when not worn is that it's not physically being moved around, and the oreintation isn't being changed. It's not cursed ... any more so than any other seconds at six movement. It's just a crapshoot with them. You're only hope at this point is a complete teardown and service. Having one of the mods done will also help.

Taka is here: http://www.2geek.net/index.php But I have seen several posts about him either not still being in business or people having trouble getting their orders. A Lello DW would be the holy grail, but those are long gone unless someone has a spare.

For $1,000 budget you should just buy the TC, swap the crown, crystal and bezel insert and be done with it. Don't worry about the movement (TC uses an improved upon ETA clone), and the new KH dial he is using is very, very close to gen.

Typical seconds at 6 time-bomb. Some work for awhile, some don't. Not sure what you did for "lubrication" but it could be that you used improper oils for that. It's likely not body heat, rather it's your body movement. I'm sure if you put it on your wrist, and stayed motionless it would run for two days also. If you must own this watch knowing the movement problems, then the best thing you can do is get it serviced immediatly, and either get the graphite mod or the additional jewel mod done. Either way, I would send it to someone that has experience doing them, and not attempt it yourself unless you are prepared to toss it if you screw things up.

Clasp number is the same, but have no idea if it would work. I would ask LHOOQ, as he posted a thread on this already. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/134367-daytona-6239-the-jubilee-option/
