  1. Until seeing the YouTube videos of Tourbillons I had no idea what they were. Initially I thought a tourbillon was just a watch which had a portion of the face cut away to show the movement. That one video completely changed my thinking. I am mesmerized with the movement and fascinated when watching it run. Here is my first tourbillon, notice there is no "brand" name on it: This came from Homer, and I have to say his service and communication is terrific (his prices are pretty good too). This is a silver watch, with a beautiful movement. I think this tourbillon movement is from Liaoning watch, and is distributed through MillionSmart. There are many tourbillons available from our reputable dealers and it was hard choosing between the ones from Josh, Andrew, Angus, River, Homer and others. Ultimately the things I wanted i.e. silver watch, power reserve indicator, white dial, and no brand name pointed to Homer's inventory. I apologize in advance for the photos, they are the best myl little camera will do in macro mode. To get the best detail the flash was turned off for these shots and that makes the watch appear to have a slight rose patina, it doesn't, its silver: The strap is very nice. It is thick and has a single deployant clasp. Here's a view on the wrist. I am 6' even and 220lbs so you can see it is nicely sized. Now that I've got a tourbillon I believe I will be adding more soon. Best regards, Lou.
  2. Pix, On another forum a member chimed in stating that the photo of the second movement above is made by Liaoning. It took awhile to find their website as they go by another name "Innovative Watches" on the web. Here is a a link to their page on the line of Tourbillon movements they manufacture. There may be other pages but the site is in Chinese.... http://www.lnwatch.com/product.asp?classID...ction=showCLASS The photo below comes from the website listed above. It is one of many they show. This one is identified as a 5011-12 Series watch produced by Liaoning Watch aka Innovative Watch: Based on what I have been able to find so far they do not deal direct, Liaoning sells watches to large distribution companies like MillionSmart. They have quite a selection on their web site. In the course of trying to locate Liaonings web site this page popped up. It is from a french site that lists a great number of chinese manufacturer web sites plus other useful information. http://forumamontres.forumactif.com/les-li...ssite-t7137.htm Best regards, Lou.
  3. Hi Pix, Homer did not identify which movement. Hoping someone here can.
  4. Pix, Thanks for the link. I am trying to learn as much as possible about tourbillons. The image below was taken from the Seagull website referencing the ST80XX movement. It would appear they use the "bird" movement. I don't know how good or bad it is as a movement. I do think it looks very very good. I've just ordered a tourbillon from Homer and am really looking forward to getting it. It has a different movement than the one shown above. Here is what the one from Homer looks like: Homer tells me it comes from Millionsmart. It may be a Liang 5010 movement. Can someone confirm or deny who manufactured this movement?
  5. Pix, What led you to conclude that the movement in your watch is manufactured by Seagull? After looking at the tourbillons available from Josh, Angus, Homer, River, and Watchmark it appears there are two movements. The first has a "bird" shaped movement for the second hand; the other movement is like yours. Any light you can shed on the differences of the movements and their appearances would be appreciated.
