  1. There was word mid this year that there was gonna be a PAM 510 out with possibly 8 days clone movement etc...anyone got any updates on this? I was gonna pull the trigger on a 111 v3 but reckon a 510 would be worth the wait...
  2. Just got my Fiddy from DSN. Thot I post some pics here. Really an expensive rep, but I really had to have something to take the knocks in place of my gen PAM164. Absolute Pukka, the Fiddy. Main complaints probably be the floppy crown guard lever, and stiff strap. Watch, half of you guys probably have, gripes all you probably already aware of. So here goes. Backdrop against the panerai brochure. A pic of the case back. Swiss unitas wth swan neck and panerai engravings. A close up The fiddy side-by-side with the gen 164 Finally, "bedroom" shot with the rest of the guys. L to R: IWC Portugues FA Jones, Panerai 164, Hamilton Khaki GMT Air Race, Panerai 127, Poljot Signal Alarm
  3. Got the one with orange numerals. 1. Website info was wrong. Watch functions same as gen...10:00 reset, 8:00 start stop. 2. Wasn't too sure about the numeral & hand colours...till I compared with the gen I went to look at...colour is spot on. 3. Saw some web site gens pics, the reset didn't have rivet head design...the button is flushed straight. But the gen I saw at the shop has the same riveted head as my rep. Didn't compare side by side, wouldn't dare at the shop...but am happy with the results. On the wrist...I have a really big wrist. Watch doesn't look big. Front. Markings look correct. Ignore the mis-aligned date...it's almost midnight when I took pics.. Side by side with my gen Hamilton GMT air race pushers angle clear back.
  4. Yeap, sorry I always jump the gun...saw that graham is also 10:00 reset. Just got my watch today lunchtime 6hrs ago, still at work. Will post pics once i get home. Thnx!
  5. I bought and received mine flightdeck 7750 today. I must have been an idiot to believe their claims. Yes, definitely they it's an inverted chrono, but on the web site it stated start-stop at 10 and reset at 8. Mine arrived with a normal inverted. 8 start-stop, 10 reset.. Probably should go kick someone now.
  6. Been looking thru the Panerai chronos up for sale on all the dealer's web sites, and reading what fellow members got to say...still can't make the jump on any in particular. Some help perhaps? I like the: PAM250 Daylight Chrono with 7753 - hear a lot abt the casing being wrong...and seems to be avoided. Sorry to ask an old qn...but what exactly are wrong with this one? PAM212 Luminor FlyBack 1950 - I tried on the gen, it felt really really good (obviously). The rotor on the rep looks off, but other than that, anybody got any comments? PAM253 Luminor Regatta Flyback - Nice, but rubber strap and mineral glass put me off. I general gripe is that I see a rep I think it's good enuf for the price, only to find there's something missing. E.g. No deployant clasp (a must have for me, but extra cash makes it not worth anymore), or comes with mineral glass instead of sapphire. Comments? Suggestions on model to consider? Thnx!
  7. Hey, Just realised that the dealers have juz released a series of rep portuguese watches with the see-thru back...saw on trusty & pc. seconds at 9, date at 6, power reserve at 3 (working PR but faux 7 days)... any thoughts? ...my first impressions were: 1. date wheel looks wrong...shld b black on white wordings. 2. not sure what's d pusher at 7 for. 3. being a asian 21J, the see-thru doesn't provide the WOW factor. 4. strap colour looks off...brown not dark enough. 5. indicator markings look off, esp the 7 days. overall not impressed, but gives the hope of better to come... wanna see what u guys think?
  8. Ummm....yeah, maybe you're right. That would really make things better. I will keep watch on that needle and update review if necessary. =)
  9. Hi, Am a newbie at this Rep stuff. Have been a silent forum reader til now...just bought and received my FA Jones. Bought the black strap with white front/black numbering & silver hands one. Got it from Andrew (Trusty). Communication and delivery was good and fast. My review...(go easy on me, total newbie) Front: 1. Nice and clean, classic look. That's why I like it. 2. Mistake!! There should be a line spacing between "Shaffhausen" and "FA Jones". Saw rep pics were ok, my came with this silly mistake. The Numbering: 1. Read about the 117/3000...so I expected it. 2. What I got was 01/50, which isn't bad for my black/silver version. Gen is ???/500, gives room for correction. A plus, but why couldn't they take it 1 number further and gave me 101/500 or something? Back: 1. Well done with the decorations I think. 2. I've seen versions with the blue screws on the wheels, and I didn't like it. Was hoping not to get the same thing but unfortunately. Mine has the silly blue plated screws which look nothing like the gen or rep pics I saw. 3. Regulator needle is FAUX and chipped/tarnished. Seems like it isn't part of the movement, juz pasted on top. Very disappointing. Update...needle cleaned and found to be probably workable. Movement: 1. From comparing it with my digital watch side by side throughout the day, seems pretty accurate. 2. Movement is LOUD. Can hear it 3meters away in a quiet room. I've got other automatic watches, none even near as loud, but it has got a retro sound to it...so not too bothered. Must be a vibration thing, cuz it's really loud on a glass table, no sound when on a rubber mat. Overall: I like the look and feel of the watch. The flaws are small but annoying cuz all so unnecessary. Doesn't follow the rep pics I saw either. I don't think that's Trusty's fault, all dealers prob get from the same source. Costs 2% of the real stuff, can't complain. But would I have bought it if I knew the 1. FA Jones spacing, 2. Blue screws and 3. Faux regulator errors....probably not.
