  1. Is this a service that anyone on the forums does? I have a custom dial with design I made (non-rep) that I would love to see in a "gilt". If not, is there a tutorial around for doing this? I might give it a shot. Thanks!!
  2. Those hands are what bring the build together!
  3. Any opinions on the best Pre-A parts? case set, crown, cg? I've been out of it for a long time but I'm thinking about one last Pre-A 009.
  4. I ran into the same problem with my 6536/1. The small crownguard models aren't as popular so my guess is that the case makers don't get it right. Ivan didn't mess up the dial, the case was flawed. However I had an NDT case so it's not the same.
  5. Any updates? This is a project that I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  6. I'd like to see an 002/009 Pre A dial too
  7. Is the insert on this first post gen? I'm not a pro when it comes to rolex but that looks pretty nice!
  8. Did this ever get finished?
  9. Guys, cool your jets! Who cares where these dials are made. They could be made in a basement in the Congo for all I care. The results speak for themselves. There are a few members here that are instigating for no reason and frankly I don't understand why. Rolli/FGD/whoever was involved is making a great dial and you're just pressing buttons. It's pretty obvious that English isn't Rolli's first language so some of his messages may get lost in translation or come across harsher than what is intended.
  10. I'd prefer a 002/009 Pre-A dial before an 000. As others have said, it's not as rare of a dial and sourcing a gen dial is a lot easier than pre-v or pre-a dials.
  11. Ill take two. Sent from my mobile phone using Tapatalk
  12. Dedicated to the search. I respect that
  13. It's probably best that I don't know where you guys source these parts. Although your 36 is something I would have done.
  14. That amplitude is a bit high. Otherwise this is outstanding!
  15. I'd possibly be interested in a non-matching 201/A but I'd like to see the final photos first.
  16. Dial is gen with the lacquer and lume redone. The swiss print and underline was also reprinted due to the laquer being redone but this is truly a white swiss dial as the rolex print and track was not redone. The coronet is the key here to tell. A lot of time and effort was put into building that watch so enjoy it. Also don't forget that has gen hands as well. Edit, and I won't touch the lume.
  17. Have you guys been to his site? His reviews are horrible.
  18. there is nothing you need to mod on this watch. The AR is perfect compared to the gen. People redo the AR on IWC reps all the time and it's not needed as the rep AR is pretty much spot on compared to the gen. Aftermarket AR always removes the blue tint that the gen has. Datewheel is great as it's not your typical ETA datewheel. I wouldn't touch it. Lume is the only area that might need some work but it's hard to tell if it's possible. The gen looks to have the lume painted directly on the dial whereas the rep has a lume marker that's applied to the dial. I know The Zigmeister years ago used to offer the removal of the markers on the 3717 and then lume directly onto the dial. I think he stopped as they changed the glue they used which made the likely hood of damaging the dial much greater. However with such a small difference, I didn't bother. Just replace the strap if you want and wear the watch.
  19. Just sold my franken PCG so took some photos:
  20. Sadly, I've sold them all. However I'm in the process of rebuilding 3 of the 4 pictures with better dials and better cases. Just need someone to finalize real steel blued hands. The finish on the Tourby hands flakes off over time. There is a member on HF that is close.
  21. It was a mix of parts: Jackson case NW CG Okabum Crown NW Caseback South Dial T Hands Gen Plexi NW Bezel ETA 6497
