  1. David- love the brown! Change of plan for me tho, IWC Top Gun Doppel is on the way
  2. Thanks tframo. That's what I've been able to decipher as well. Just haven't heard great things about V2's reliability and I'm not prepared to replace the asian 7750 with an ETA within months of the purchase. Are my fears unfounded?
  3. Yes and I'm pretty sure I've read them all... There's very little info on the newer avenger blacksteel model. Obviously the info for the stainless models applies, but that's little help for the black finish info :-/
  4. I'm looking to pull the trigger on a Avenger Blacksteel soon and even though I know the bracelet is fantasy, I think I'm leaning towards picking it up from Toro (will likely add the rubber as well, that way I can have the accurate combo also). Here's the link: http://www.torobravos2013.com/index....product_id=148 As far as I can decipher, this is a V3. I've been searching away and can't seem to find much info for V3 Blacksteel... Can anyone inform me how the PVD is? Is it comparable to V2? Or is it as bad as V1? I've heard V2 isn't that accurate compared to gen- but definitely don't want to be taking a step back with this model... Thanks for the help!!
  5. I've been lurking around at another forum lately because of the lack of search. Funny I didn't think of using google until reading this thread!
  6. I'd add Steinhart, they've got some interesting looks lately- much more than the homages they used to offer
  7. Thanks for the advise. I figure if I'm gonna replace hands I might as well get a new dial as well. But the main issue to begin with the a dirty dial from a 'watchsmith', so in the future the isopropanol/ zippo fluid tip may prove helpful.
  8. So I decided to try and clean my V3 DSSD dial and ended up bending the second hand as well as scratching the dial. This DIY stuff is obviously not for the faint of heart! Anyone know where I would be able to source a new dial and hands? I called my dealer but with the language barrier it kinda gets lost in translation. Even better would be finding a compatible dial but with the beveled date window. Here's a pic after I tried straightening the hand: I don't know if you can see the scratches, but in person it's looks worse. Any help is appreciated - Thanks!
  9. That IWC sure is something, especially when you factor in the price! Thanks for the replies all. And Samurai, that C1 looks amazing, that beauty has been on my list for a while- best be putting it on the top I think
  10. I just got my DSSD back from a watchsmith who returned it with a filthy dial. I'd make a fuss about it to him but we're in the middle of another non-related transaction. I'm going to pick up a can of compressed air tomorrow and try it out, but what concerns me is 2 of the lume markers are soiled slightly as well. I thought perhaps a Q-tip if air doesn't remove but was curious how the lume may react, especially if I used a bit of water on the Q-tip. Hopefully some of you may have experience in cleaning dials and have a better idea? Thanks in advance for any help!
  11. Hey Jason, this is Chesne. Thought I should track you down!

  12. I've heard Graham's and the Concord C1 mentioned previously as well, any impressions?
  13. Tried to search this, and I've heard a few mentioned on random posts. Thought I'd just go out and ask... Best out of the box AR on any rep?
  14. All good choices... Although not totally accurate, here's my vote:
  15. Well apparently, my father-in-law asked for it this way back when the watch was new...
  16. For you members that are saying your not a Rolex fan but this watch is making you think twice, I have 2 words of advise for you. DO IT! I felt the same way, but my DSSD is now my favorite piece. To the OP, very nice pics - Thanks!
  17. Thanks Freddy, The wierd thing about the Bulova is that it was ordered with no dial, but is not labeled as a Spaceview - so it's a one off. Yours is a true touch of class as always
  18. And now for something completely different: Just got this back from my watchsmith - a gift from my father-in-law
  19. Mission successful. Thanks for all the help. I popped it out using a small screwdriver (fingernail just wouldnt' do it)and used a set of tweezers to place it back in. It was a tight fit with the epoxy in there so I figure it should be fairly secure.
  20. .... Anyone?? BTW, I did use the search function first
  21. I've finally got my new Bezel insert (my original was faulty) for a DSSD V3 and have painted the numerals so they appear thicker. Pleased by my work I put my DSSD back on and almost instantly noticed the pearl is very dim and not even close to blue in color. Fortunetly, my original pearl is much nicer and am about to put it back on. My thought was to just remove the pearl and use a 2 part epoxy to fix the old pearl back on. Does anyone have any experience doing so? Is this a bad idea, would it be better to remove the bezel insert altogether? Any of your experiences is welcome!
  22. That Porsche makes me wanna puke. The Aston is beautiful too but check out this Lambo sedan... NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A LUXO SPORT SEDAN!!
  23. This is easier said then done, I just ruined the tip of an X-acto trying to get my insert off. Any other tools that make this easier??
  24. I don't usually post here either BUT I gotta show off the new acquisition... I'll be sporting this all weekend I know it's not all that accurate (white lettering should be dark grey) but this watch has SERIOUS PRESENCE!
  25. I know I'm gonna get flamed for this one but... CASIO G-SHOCK!!!
