  1. Any idea how long VAC's lume last?
  2. WOW! It the lume didnt last as long as your Getat? That's amazing! Kent said he uses lume from RC Tritec which I assume was the standard for the swiss watches. Unless Panerai has their own proprietary lume. How long did does your lume last compared to Getat? Under how much exposure? ie 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, etc. Thanks for the tip.
  3. Thanks, that seems like a very fair price. I figure the B&R uses more lume and would cost way more than that.
  4. Do you have pictures of the final product? Perhaps a review? I cant imagine waiting 3 months only to receive a something sub-par. Did he try to fix the problem?
  5. He seems to works on homages and gens. Will he relume my rep pam104? What is the best way to approach this topic with him? Would I receive the same quality of work compared to a gen? Any idea how much it would cost to relume the hands and sausage dial? Any idea what color I should ask that would be closes to gen? ie c1 or c3 or mix? Thank you
  6. ahh, I see. I so its the lume material. My friend has a 20 year old Rolex and a nice patina formed on the tritium lume so it doesnt glow as bright as it use to. So a lume job is in order and a date font change (if I can find one). The watch is 2 years old and the A7750 has never been serviced. I've read on a posting that an auto PAM with the chrono disabled is more reliable. With that being said, should I have it serviced or can it go a few more years? The watch has hardly been worn maybe 20 times. Would it be possible to fit a gen ETA 7750 in the rep pam050? I figure if overhauling the A7750 is going to cost about half that of a gen eta 7750 that I might as well go for broke and have a modder swap one in.
  7. It just dawned on me and I'm conflicted, hope you guys can chime in. Example: Rep PAM050 C series This mean the GEN came out in 2000. I'm sure when it came out it glowed like a torch. However its 10 years later wouldn't the lume not last as long as it did when new? Would it look equivalent to rep lume or just slightly better? As much as I love the bright lume, would it be "gen like" if I had it relumed? Wouldn't this be creating another "tell" just like the poor date font on the rep? Do GEN owners actually have their watches relumed? I cant seem to find info on this topic. Thanks guys
  8. I love the way a Pam looks. Particularly the 111. However, I dont have the $$$ for a GEN and I dont feel like I can pull of a REP. I'm going to receive a very nice Homage. I know the crown guard is strictly PAM but I had no idea Marina Militare also belonged to them. Well, the homage I'm going to receive has Marina Militare on the dial. There's no Panerai label on the watch at all. Can I still call this a homage? Or will the dial have to be sterile? THE RXW MM20 got heat from Panerai due to the crownguard design and thats a homage. I was talking to my coworker who owns a PAM 063 GMT and he said the RXW was a knock off but if it was a sterile dial then it would be "ok" even with the crown guard. Can you guys help me out here. I'm shocked and confused. Thank you
  9. @ mastrmindalliance Thanks! I love the beer hence the nickname @thinkbachs THAT's a funny .gif
  10. I will post pictures as soon as I get the watch. Yeah, it is a waste of a perfectly good watch and that 111 stood up pretty well against those tools.
  11. HI Guys I love the PAM 111 but dont have the $$$ to buy the real thing. I love the design and rather than buying a rep I decided to go with a Homage. I'm sure rep vs homage debate has been going on for a while. I would rather not be "called out" for a rep but rather peek someone interest if I was rocking a luminor homage. I was informed by my brother in law that his friend who own GENS wanted to help me out. I thought oh sh*t! He's going to give me one or for practically a steal? Right? Uh .. No LOL! He actually had a homage custom assembled for me. I"m talking fully loaded with swiss eta 6497 movement. I was ecstatic but will have to now pretend to be surprised when I receive this gift. What a lovely gift. Then I saw the following you tube clip. OMG! Its appears to be a starter watch that most likely cost $90. What's this guy problem? Does he think rep/homage= fake. There were some interesting comments left on this clip. He must own gen PAMs no? I was told that my watch will look like the on in the clip but of higher quality all around. I showed the clip to my brother in law and he confirmed this. I'd appreciate your feedback. I thought a homage were ok.
  12. Awesome catch! I had no idea about this. Thanks a lot and thanks to everyone for their input. I was ready to offer the guy $150 for his "gen" BP strap. Whew!! You guys saved me a headache.
  13. Hi guys A local guy around my neck of the woods want to sell his BP 5004. He knows its a rep but stated the strap is GEN. Can you tell me if its worth $380? I dont know how to tell if the strap is GEN. Among other things about this watch. here are the pics. Feel free to nitpick the heck out of this watch.
