  1. UPDATE!

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co-Axial Chronometer

    329045ga041_omega_planet_ocean_james_bond.jpg

    OMEGA and James Bond.

    The adventure continues...

In the James Bond movie Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig will sport yet another Omega, a Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co-Axial Chronometer with a black dial (watch ref. 2201.50.00).

Bond fans and Omega enthusiasts will know that 007 has been wearing Seamasters featuring blue dials since 1995 so the black watch face on the Seamaster Planet Ocean in Quantum of Solace marks a departure for James Bond.

The Limited "Quantum of Solace" Edition of the Seamaster Planet Ocean

"QUANTUM OF SOLACE" LIMITED EDITION Modelnr. 222.30.46.20.01.001

The black textured surface of its dial - reminiscent of the grip of 007's trademark Walther PPK - distinguishes the OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Quantum of Solace from every other James Bond limited edition watch. The blood red tip of the seconds hand rotates in stark contrast to the black dial.

Unmistakably Omega, undeniably Bond: a 007 logo is engraved on the buckle of the stainless steel bracelet. Another 007 logo appears on the caseback which also features the engraved words "Planet Ocean Limited Edition" whose black chromium treatment recalls the colour of the black dial.

  2. thanks to all

JBOND: have you bought one from this site ? is there located in europe?

    thanks

No never but is one of the best asian dealer we have. If you want a trusty european dealer speak with the guy from precious time (ptswiss.com). The model is not on the website but you have to speak with the dealer he can get the watch.

    Good luck

  3. yes i said i didnt know anything about watches at the time, not that im an idiot

anyhow, does ptswiss have any prices on their site? all i can find are photos?

Take it easy my friend. If you wanna know the price you have to contact the dealer. No price catalog... Photos here: ptswiss.com

  4. yes i am indeed a noobie :)

i have searched a lot in the last few days and read what must be hundreds of threads, and FAQ, and "start here" guides so im a little... less clueless ;)

i actually own two reps i bought in china town... went with the GF last week and she *needed* to buy some rep purses, so we go through a movie-like-adventure and long story short i end up in a little basement in chinatown full of every kind of rep of anything you could ever want...

i didnt know much about watches besides, rolex is expensive, james bond wears an omega in the new movies, and patek philippe makes that 1.5mil watch lol

so i picked up these two... one an omega so its not too off topic i guess hehe...

    nalajaabn.jpg

the omega seemed a little off when i looked at it, and now looking at photos of real ones the differences are pretty apparant... and the patek is a fantasy, no similar watch actually exists, but thats ok i just bought it becuase it looks pretty not becuase of whos name it has on it (well, the patek, not the omega :D) plus at $120 for the pair I'm happy

also i dont want to start a war of mechanical (automatic) vs. electronic (quartz)... i just figure theres less variance in quarts movements (even cereal box watches keep time "ok" lol!) but from reading more and more about the movements they seem to be ok... i just worry becuase i would like a watch i can wear every day and not worry about knocking something out of wack...

Your Omega is a pretty poor rep... Wrong color, wrong bezel, wrong CG's, wrong bracelet. That chinese street stuff. Take a look at this:

    A swiss replica from ptswiss.com

    Could you see the difference???

  5. Wow.. Looking at the photos, that is one of the slimmest case back I've seen for a rep SMP... The photos however looks suspicious.. It could be a gen in the photos..

No it's not... Look at the CG's, He, pearl... All asian versions have slimmest case back as swiss versions.

  6. Well I guess I'm one of your targets being that I have an posted a certain $130,000 car in my garage and the bank didn't give me the money for it either. And yes, I do own more than a few genuine watches as do probably hundreds of members here. In fact, there are more than a few who have both modern and vintage collections well intothe hundreds of thousands in value.

But the point is that most of us are here because this is a better place for watch lovers than ANY genuine forum on the net and that is what keeps us coming back. It is also more fun in many cases to embark on the experience of building up and modding a great replica watch. I'm about to do a vintage Rolex 1680 Submariner project and as always the journey will be the destination. Could I find and buy a genuine vintage Rolex? Sure, but building the rep will be much more satisfying. It isn't about being cheap or not knowing how to spend your money. That said, I have made some gen purchases of watches that there are excellent reps of that probably make no sense to others, but to each his own. If you are going to get along well here I would suggest you try and understand that we are all watch lovers first. That is what is cool about this place. You can't judge a true watch nut by his cover. Now over on TZ, you may find a more even scale that measure how much dough a guy has by looking at his collection.

My SAT's in English were kind of low and I'm just a dumb trader who gambles for a living, but my vocabulary doesn't have to be good to know that the only antagonsim in this thread seems to be coming from you brother. To each his own...

Well, I understand your view. Sorry I used a wrong word. The good one is "incongruity".

Alphakazi, in this point I'm agree.

Well, I don't know where you're living guys. But you have to know, in France people who buy 130,000

  7.

    Sadly not.

Strictly speaking, anachronism is also incorrect in this instance, but it's close to what you appear to mean. "incongruity" might have been a better choice of word.

Yep, maybe in french that different. So, next time I will use "incongruity". Thanks for the english lesson.
