I'm not familiar with Gunny, but I agree it is super nice! Is it the same 24mm width straps for Fiddy as for base PAMs?

Very, very nice. Congrats! I'm really into this one, but I'm a bit concerned about the size. Does it wear much bigger than a 44mm PAM? I have no problem wearing the 44mm, I find it more "forgiving" than many other 44mm watches. If this 47mm is also forgiving, then I might get away with it ..

Just starting to get into PAMs, sorry for a noob question =( .. I'm starting to like this model http://www.1-pc8838.com/pn292m02-292m-cerle-a6497-p-11422.html I'm trying to find out if it's from the H or the N factory. I'm guessing the H-factory. The reason I'm interested is due to the posts about the new "colorless" AR from Noob factory being double-sided. Is there any special sign to look for regarding factory origin? Anyone else interested in this rep? Radiomirs haven't really "talked to me" before, but they're starting to now .. =)

Thanx, I'm beginning to think the same. When I first started looking at the 196, i found the polished bezel and mid links nice, but the dial is not as nice I think.

It can also be the rotor is stuck on some dirt, it can help to remove it and try to blow it clean. Hi Mickey! You bought the 236-K if my memory serves me right? I'm considering the 236-K and the 196-H and I keep changing my mind about which to get all the time. Are you happy with the 236-K? If you were offered to change it for the 196-H, would you change or would you stick with the 236-K? =)

I'm trying to find decent wrist shots of any of these PAMs (older rep versions or gens or whatever) to see how big they wear but I'm unable to find any =/ .. any hints?

Regarding this new QC test procedure by Josh which is indeed great. Why didn't he supply pictures from the waterproof testing? According to his QC examples there will also be pics of your watch from w/p testing. Does this indicate that this REP in fact did not pass that test since he left these pictures out? ... =(

crap! typical .. you get all too excited for nothing. found it a bit strange with the chrono parts missing on the back of the movement. that also explains the thinner movement.

I saw the pictures on Josh'es site and had to go to RWG immediately to follow the discussion =) This movement is very interesting, it does not look very much alike the 7750 from the back side. The first thing to notice is ofcourse the datewheel which is more flush, but I noticed another interesting thing .. when looking at the new Timewalker rep (featuring the same new movement), it looks like they have managed to make the movement thinner! There is a gap between the see-through case back crystal and the rotor which seems to be bigger than on the old A7750 tri-compax Timewalker rep! If this is the case, it is really good news .. this means the factories can produce a new thinner case set for navitimers, timewalkers and other 7753-based watches which better matches the original 7753 movement since the tri-compax module ontop of the A7750 makes the movement, and thus the case, thicker than original. If this is the case, we will hopefully see new reps with new case sets for these watches

It is not the actual tube where the hour or minute hands is fitted, but it is the tube that is directly "inside" the free cannon pinion which in turn is inside the tube of the hour wheel. The thing is, I was refitting the hands after a repair, when fitting the chrono seconds hand I got it slightly misaligned so I was going to remove and refit it. The quality of the hand was pretty poor and when trying to remove it I broke the "tube" of the hand (I was using the "remove chrono seconds hand ONLY approach", I should've removed all hands using the hand removal tool instead, stupid lazy me). So, I'm left with a chrono seconds hand tube that is stuck on the pin of the chronograph wheel. Ok, I can't remove the broken tube off the pin from the dial side since the tubes of the hour and minute hands are blocking the access to the pin of the chronograph wheel. So instead I go from behind, remove the auto device bridge and then remove the chronograph wheel, effectively making the broken tube come off of the chronograph wheel pin and get stuck inside of the center tube instead! Ok, at least the chrono wheel is clean, now I only have to get the broken seconds hand tube out of the center tube. I used a broach and tried to push it out of the center tube, it succeeded, but at the same time I actually pushed the whole center tube out through the tubes of the minute and hour hands! Well, not completely out, since I stopped pushing as soon as I saw that I was moving the center tube =) tried to push it back in place and it seemed ok. But when I've completely assembled the movement now I can see that when setting the time, the tubes around the chrono wheel can actually move a bit, they are not completely fixed, there is some slack in there, so to say. Maybe this is due to the center tube not being pushed down all the way, so it can be fixed just by pusing it further down, or maybe I will need a new tube if it has come loose from its bottom plate. I will know when I disassemble the movement again, but I have to disassemble a lot before being able to replace the center tube, so I will prepare with a spare center tube in case it will be needed.

Have a broken centre tube (part. no. 161, CS no 80.400.00) in an A7750 (please don't ask me how I broke it =) ), thinking of replacing it with a gen ETA centre tube from cousins. Anyone have an idea whether the gen part will fit an A7750? Since it is not a very complex part, I'm thinking the chances are good it will work.

Have u been practising Turkish Hamam bath lately? Supposedly such activities can cause the lume on the dial to go grey.

I'm also thinking about the gen By-Tor! The blue dial version with AR and display case back, it's soo nice! Even though the blue dial rep version is nice, the color of the dial is not directly true to the gen, the gen has an increadibly metallic and shiny clear blue color. Tried it on at the AD and it is such a looker

Hi All, I have only good things to say about Tony at asian7750.com. He gets you the right stuff and he is QUICK! Do not underestimate him due to the site!!! He doesn't get the stuff upp on the site as quickly as Josh and others, and he doesn't bother getting it all up, but he gets it all for you, believe me he's close to the source so to speak =) I have four orders so far with him, where the last two orders contained completely new cartel watches that just got up on PC, not even price yet on PC, Tony sends them all QUICK, just send him an email, he is by far quicker than any other dealer I've tried, and I've tried most of them =) Also as mentioned in the thread, he has very good prices, as a rule he stays $30 under PC on cartel watches. He gets you parts as well, no problems, SS bracelets, clasps, dials, hands... And not to forget, he has his "crazy sale" thing, a couple of watches that are switched out couple of times per month, you can do great finds there! How about the IWC Pilot Chrono 3717 for UNDER $200! =) He's english is not the best, although there are absolutely no problems communicating with him. Also, he knows watches, you can discuss sticking reversing wheels etc with him. My last order contained one completely new cartel watch, one set of MB TimeWalker hands (all 6 of them), one SS bracelet for the new 43mm Carrera and another SS clasp only. Neither of these parts were on his site, just tell him what you want, he will know, or send him links if its really strange stuff. Judging by my earlier experience with some dealers and ordering odd parts, I thought to my self, this order is gonna take tiiiime. He receives my order and replies in the usual manner "I'll send you the package as soon as possible and give you the tracking number" ye ye, and can you believe this, the NEXT DAY I get the tracking number through email! 4 days later I get the package, everything satisfactory, watch, hands, bracelet and clasp. Now that is quick for an order with odd parts, heck, it's quick for any order! Ok, what more can I tell you .. he ships from GZ (no [censored]?! =) ), good packaging - bubble-wrapped watches in styrofoam package. No issues with customs, although I've never had an issues with customs. Also, he has at least some insight in the factories, you can ask him about new watches, are they working them, when might they be expected etc. I've tried to get a complete line-up for 2009 LOL, but I couldn't get one .. I doubt the factories themselves has one even =) Anyway, I've had only good luck with all my orders so far, so I can't tell you how he is when it comes to problems, but according to the site he has about the same rules as other dealers. Ok, I know I might get jumped by some members now, but hey, more good dealers is only good for us right! For myself I do not use only one dealer, you can have a good relation with many of them and choose the best dealer at each moment. By coincidence, the best one has been Tony for quite a while for me now =) But I also know many of you are annoyed with the constantly increasing prices, hey, make the other delears know that there are popping up new GOOD delears with good prices, and that we are choosing THEM! Make them match prices, competition is good for everyone! We should endorse good dealers and keep perspective, the best dealer some years ago are not necessarily the best dealer today. The fine regulator is present, so it can be either the old or the really new A7750 version, but the date wheels suggests the old version to me. Also, it seems to lack AR as opposed to the gen, and the gen also have display case back and double button deployment clasp. So it seems as if they just took the old case set and bracelet and put in a new dial =/ .. anyway, lets stay tuned for the details! Cheers, 801run

Hi David, yes bracelet screws was explicitly stated and watch screws in general. Loctite 222 weak screw/thread-lock is the way to go for all the watch stuff, according to a lot of posters in that particular thread.

Thanx FxrAndy, think I will go with the weak threadlock. Searched around a bit on repgeek as well, and although I found no one using it for hands in particular, the overall opinion seemed to be that only the weakest loctite were suitable for watch parts.

Thanx Logan! That might very well be worth a try, diluting it with water as you say before using it for the hands sounds like a good plan.

Hi, Planning on doing an A7750 -> ETA7750 upgrade and will make sure to have the right version of Loctite by my side should I need it (which I guess I probably will) for the small chrono hands. As of now I have a Loctite superglue that dries instantly, in like 3 secs .. afraid to use that one on the hands in case I do not manage to get the hands in place quickly enough. Also, this superglue might be way to strong for hands, to be able to remove them later. Searched the forum but wasn't able to find an answer to this one. Anyone has any recommendations? Loctite 222 (Low Strength) perhaps? Maybe 243 (Medium)? Thanx! 801run

Thanks, yes I think you are right, the "older" Carreras as well were not screw down. Yes, I'm also curious about this. Will make sure to compare the REP with the GEN to check it out next time I'm at the AD.
