  1. Wonderful pictures. That is, by far, the best water resistant test I have seen. Your pictures make me want to jump in to a pool.
  2. Thanks for the excellent review. It is my daily beater. I have it serviced and sent it for relume. Hope to get it back soon.
  3. Glad to hear a happy ending. I'm sure she will like it. The actual watch looks much nicer than in picture. I happened to pick the very same model for my lady last Saturday. It is really stunning watch with only one exception that is the date window.
  4. See it yourselves. Unicorn 3717 vs gen XVI. Then tell me that they are the same.
  5. What an entertaining story. Keep it up George. You might be able to sell it to publishers some days.
  6. The box set can be ordered from Cousins in UK. Try google for their website.
  7. Excellent project. Congratulations. SMP Chrono is also my favorite. BTW, can you tell me where you got the movement?
  8. The hands on EXP and EXP II rep have pretty weak lume compared to the markers. I see that Cousins sells pack of hands for R'lex. Has anyone get them? How is the hands and lume quality? Thanks
  9. I usually wear long sleeve shirt in the office. Covering the watch with sleeve help preventing the scratch. TTK's suggestion is interesting. I'll have a look.
  10. I've been waiting to see who will be the first to get the SWISS. The day-date looks perfect. You've got a gem there. Congratulation.
  11. Thanks for the info. It is really a gen.
  12. Yes, I agree that the AR looks good. However, the subdials do not look right. Look at the TT's version and gen picture links that I posted. Another point, plastic wrapping on the bracelet is very similar to rep.
  13. Excellent lume shots. The lume on the markers and hands is good but on the inner bezel is weak. Nevertheless, I do not see need to relumed. Now that lume quality is established. The last thing left to be checked is water resistant.
  14. Found it on the'bay. It lacks the white circles on the subdials. This one is from 'BAY. IWC Pilot Chrono on ebay This is from TT TT IWC Pilot This is gen. GEN What do you think?
  15. These are by far the best pics. Thanks for sharing.
  16. There is lots of info on this forum about it. In essence, use WD-40 to clean and wash with water and soap. Some also suggest 3 in 1 oil for oiling. I plan to get them and do mine this weekend. I found that bracelet on my EXP II is very good. EXP I is lighter and does not have as nice surface as EXP II. SUB is OK but not smooth. I hope cleaning and oiling will improve them. How is yours?
  17. Congratulations. I also just got EXP I, EXP II, and SUB on Wednesday. Love them all. Hard to decide which one to wear. I plan to clean and oil the bracelet this weekend. Will be broke for the next few months.
  18. Hi Jeff, What do you mean with movement swap - old Asian for new? Did you have problem with the Asian 7750 movment that came with the watch and swap it or a new Asian 7750?
  19. Thanks Amadeus for taking up the challenge very promptly. Your Cousteau looks very good. The differences in these pictures are rather minute and can not been seen without very close look. If the day-date can be improved, you've got really good one. Congratulations.
  20. Just saw these pics of gen Cousteau at TZ. Look at the perfect day-date display. For those of you who complained about crooked markers, you can feel better now. The gen has the same problem! Sub-dial and hands Back credited to Replevin at TZ It will be very interesting if the owners of the Cousteau try to shoot yours in the same fashions for comparison. Thanks.
  21. Beautiful watch and superb photo skill as always!
  22. Congratulations. The new datewheel is a major improvement. I am tempted. On the other hand, the relumed color looks a little off. Look at the 3rd picture. It is too blueish. If I put the Unicorn 3717 and my gen XVI side by side, color of the original Unicorn 3717 hands and markers is very very close to the color on the XVI. The hands and lumed markers on gen XVI is slightly yellowish-white color. Color of unlumed and lumed markers and hands is exactly the same. Only under low light condition, the lumed markers and hands start to grow. The last sticking step toward the perfect 3717 rep is the sapphire. On my gen XVI, it is very clear with very little reflection in most angles and only slight hint of blue. I wonder if there is a source for gen IWC sapphire.
  23. Each rep has issues here or there. When I buy one, I will check appearance or visual quality against the gen as much as possible. So, I'll be, more or less, content with the decorative part of the rep. What I can not know from looking at pictures is quality of the movement, which includes crown, buttons, chronograph function, etc.
