  1. Dave worked for a packaging company. One day, Dave received four separate orders and accidentally mixed up the addresses, so he applied the address labels at random. What is the probability that exactly three packages were correctly labelled? :g:

  2. Oh, too good! I thought that would have people arguing for half a day!

    WINNER!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Duncan Drivel was asked how many ducks he had. "Well," he said, "they just walked down and I didn't actually count them, but I remember one duck in front of two ducks, another duck behind two ducks, and another duck between two ducks." How many ducks does Duncan have?

3 ducks walking in one line.

  3. WINNER!! :thumbsupsmileyanim::thumbsupsmileyanim::thumbsupsmileyanim:

Okay two questions to leave overnight...

I'm just not sure if anyone on this forum will crack this one (I write it just because it's a genuine question in the pack):

What is the third hand on a watch or clock called? :cc_detective:

    ;)

    And another question:

If you were to step into a sealed room filled with 100% methane gas and strike a match, what would happen? :o

The third hand is called the second hand. :victory:

OK, the second question first. Providing that you survive long enough in the 100% methane gas environment and manage to pull out match and strike it, nothing will happen.

Without oxygen in the air, fire can not ignite. Though, if you really want to, you can exhale air from your lung, which will still contain some oxygen, when you strike the match. Kaboom! :Jumpy:

  5. I will give it a try.

Say Scheming Suzie was born on Dec 31, 1995 and today is Jan 1, 2006. So, the day before yesterday was Dec 30, 2005. Suzie was technically 9 years and 355 days or a 9 years old girl.

A year from now will be Jan 1, 2007. For someone who was born in 1995, in the year 2007 she can be considered 12 years old.

    Or something likes that. :g:

  6. Great find, does that include delivery?

Well, it is from a local dealer. So I pick it up directly from him. Nothing beats having a chance to inspect the watch before buying.

Considering that it was the price I paid, his cost is lower than that. And, for dealers who have the watch shipped directly out of China to customers, cost will be even lower.

  7. He did mention that the chrono was already broken. :D

A full service could repair the chrono, to be honest, but at $175 could take the entire cost to $300. If the watch was bought as a pretty timepiece as opposed to a chrono, then a service may not be worth it.

    Hi Pugwash,

I admire your photos. You actually are responsible for my GST acquisition.

The chrono thing was a suggestion from Jos. Perhaps, it will be helpful for other owners.

Servicing the watch is not just to fix chrono but to give it longer service life and accuracy. The movement did not get any proper treatment prior to leaving factory. So, the parts will wear off pretty quick.

  8. I had exactly the same thought.

Jos warned not to change the day and date when your watch time is between 10:00 to 3:00. Something likes the internal wheels are too close together and they could touch each other.

To avoid the problem, turn the time to 4:30 then change day/ date. After that you can adjust the watch to correct time.

Other points are do not play with the chronograph too often and have the movement serviced within the first 6 months.

BTW, the GST is automatic movement. You just give it some wristtime will be sufficient.

    Hope that it helps. :D

  10. Strangely Andrew has the 165 listed as 12mm thick while the titanium unitas and lemania 44mm pams are listed as 12.5mm. The case for the 177 looks the same as the 165. After talking to Jos he says he can build a custom 165 using the 177, however the bezel and crown guard will also be titanium. Anyways I've already got a 165 so its too late and too pricey to go that route. If you haven't ordered a 165 I'd talk to Jos about the custom one. Its alot easier to switch the bezel and crown guard then to switch the case.

Well, I'm in the same position as you are. I have already got the 165 in SS. I would have to get rid of my 165 before getting new one.

As a matter of fact, I actually like my 165. It keeps time very well with the Asian 7750 movement. I will probably spend money on getting different model instead.

  11. That is exactly what I have in mind to modify the 165 SS case to Titanium. One point I notice is 165 automatic case is thicker than the manual movement case. So, first step is to find correct thickness Titanium case.

Anyone know which one is? :g:
