  1. I've recenlt bought a BMW F800R Here's my review - http://f800riders.org/forum/showthread.php?t=28036 Cost just over
  2. Scamers. Selling at less than trade price. Payment by money transfer only. If it looks too good etc....
  3. I'm not trying to make light of the situation, but this reminded me of just about the funniest video on the internet. Classic Ozzie humour
  4. Hey, no teasing! Movement shots please. Pretty please? If they're as good as the last we need to see them.
  5. I have a gen PAM and my ultimate watch is one of PP grand complications. I'll get one someday. I like both immensely. I would however take issue with the fact that PP have the best reps. I've seen none worth of the brand.
  6. That watch is a beauty. Always set to Friday the 13th to give you a happy feeling every time you put it on.
  7. I wonder if this recession/depression will have a profound impact on the US psyche. One in 12 people are now out of work and the number is rising. Massive foreclosures are leading to tent cities sprouting up. Soup kitchens are being stretched. Businesses are failing daily and people are being let go in all industries. The US provides a very narrow safety net for the unemployed and it doesn't last a long time. There is no adequate health care coverage for those that are in this huge financial dificulty. In the states recently I was watching the tales of poor people on the news. People were getting fired for being 30 minutes late for work or for drinking soda on the job. These people were fired so avoid paying any compensation. Gross missconduct means no redundancy payout. Being fired also means no assistance from the state. True capitalism is very harsh. It is impossible for everyone to be rich. You can't have a nation of millionaires (ignoring inflation) someone has to peel the potatoes and clean the toilets. Pretending that everyone can get ahead if they just work hard is bull. Only come can. America and Europe has imported crap purchased on credit for the last decade. Now this is drying up the natural order of capitalism is returning. Do you think Americans will reach out to those in their own country who are in need through no fault of their own? I think they'll have to. How the'll sell the message without it being called communism/socialism/marxism I don't know, but I can't see the richest nation on earth being so dispassionate they'd let this pain continue without intervention.
  8. I thought hard about it, but fell in love with another colour. It was a bargain.
  9. Yup. I have to say, the assistant was smart. She really new her stuff and was more than happy to share her knowledge and time. The only reason I didn't purchase was the exchange rate. She also let me play with the JLC Tourby.
  10. These threads are great. I've had a UNMD on my list for a wee while. Last week in Vegas I tried a couple on and fell in love with the burgundy faced version with the steel strap. The assistant couldn't be more helpful and offered me it at a large discount. Unfortunately due to the way the
  11. Nice find. It's a lovely watch. I am likely to make a bid on this although towards the bottom of the estimate. I may get lucky...
  12. Is this true? I have a UN on my shortlist for my next gen. Having to pay $$$$ to fix something without UN helping is pretty sickening. Worse still, if it flies of my wrist when paddling at sea I've lost it. This info is enough to put me off completely.
  13. Nice words. Finding the right charity may be a challenge, this is probably best led by someone in Oz. Otherwise, maybe a combined RWG donation to http://www.redcross.org.uk/donatesection.a...=37220_ozbanner would be a good idea? I don't have enough standing in the community to help organise something here yet, but am happy to donate.
  14. Great article, I enjoyed that. Thanks for making the effort.
  15. I know a little bit about weightloss. I lost a lot of weight and blogged the whole thing. http://guineasblog.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html I lost 2-3 times what you're embarking on. I'll contribute.
  16. Hi folks. My first wrist check...
  17. Heh, If we want to get legal then in the UK the sales of good act would trump all. Even for fakes. Pay by credit card and charge back if you get ripped off. But, since I'm fairly sure to get bad service by someone offering those terms, I'd keep my wallet in my pocket and buy elsewhere.
  18. Would anyone here buy a product or service from someone with that disclaimer? There's no way I would. How are you do know that your DOA rep wasn't sent out dead? The guy is saying I can (drop) ship out anything to you and it's all your responsibility. Trust is a two way street. The dealer gets the cash and I get a watch. If I don't get a watch then the dealer should help me solve the problem. The solution may be spares or a replacement, but a comprimise should be made. This is a rip-off's charter and there's no way I'd pay money to a 'collector' under those terms. I am not vaive about the rep world, but there are dealers who will look after you so why risk with those with these types of disclaimers.
  19. Here's one I just took for you. It's a Pam 111 k series. I hope it helps. Edit: Changed picture for more depth of field.
  20. Thanks! I'm really looking foprward to the trip now. I wonder if those ADs like to negotiate on price?
  21. Beautiful watch my friend. I've had an eye on the stainless version and tried it on a couple of times too at the local AD. The only reason I didn't get it was the fact that I already have a Maurice Lacroix and I want to try a few other brands. I would definitely send it to ML to service and regulate it. They'd probably love to see the work done on it too Enjoy it and wear it in good health.
  22. Thanks for the advice all, much appreciated. Caeser's it is! I'm in the Bellagio next door, so I may even go twice...
  23. I'm heading to Vegas in a few weeks on a conference and I wondered if any forum members could point me in the direction of a nice place or two to look at watches? I've been before, but mostly ate, drank and played on the tables. This time I fancy widening my horizons so any other recommendations on how to spend the evening would be great.
