apparently the same factory that did the A7753 daylights is indeed making this one.

This is true.
He has everything, even a gen dial, also tech./specs. doc.
The problem, he has to find a maker who wants to invest money to product a complete 1675 rotating bezel and dials. Its probably more juicy to produce modern Subs
Probably the maker who makes the 1655 is not interested by the 1675 conversion, and no one other wants to start a 1675 from scratch. Probably not enough sales potential.
Thats a damn shame, if there was only a way to convince the makers. Can you imagine the amount of franken watches if they got the case 1:1.
-
I heard over on repgeek that josh has everything necessary to make a 1:1 1675, but I don't know if this is true or not.

Some wannabe gangsta got killed by the police last week (they shot first, although he was armed) and the scum of society have been using the opportunity since then to go looting some new trainers and flatscreen TVs
It's a big shame. Senseless youth are taking to the streets not for a genuine cause. They are only looting and causing havoc because they are bored and lazy to participate in real life. We must show zero tolerance to this.
Can't agree more with this. I really hope that something is done soon and not too many of the idiots walk away without punishment. Stay safe people.

Especially when the price of a DW with the mystery movement is within striking range and doesn't require that "L" shaped arm.
Great write up, but does DW still do mystery movements? Last time I asked he said that he doesn't do them because of reliability.
-
Thanks for the comparison. I really, really, really want a 6265 but DW is out of stock until mid august. I actually wanted one with the brown sub-dials but it seems he can't make them unless theres a big order.

Something doable in the rep world? A Panerai 267 then . Other than that I can't decide between crazy creations that are out there.

I think options from dealers are few , which is a shame given the recent 177's quality , but the black sandwich dial and the Ti combination is very austere and quite dull so a brown dial is preferable. Not sure if the cartel do those 36's still might be worth checking out one of those dials. 116 & 118 are pretty impossible to get unless someone puts one up in the trade section. Ive a 055 from davidsen , compared to the gen , which seem to have an almost black dial its a dreadful rep, but as a watch itself its really nice and of the 5 or 6 Ti's I've had its the one Ive kept. Good luck with your search.
I really hope they do a nice tobacco watch with the lovely Ti case. Your watch is very nice as well.
I agree it aint great but are you saying you dont like his lume or the fact the gen has the T lume... if you look at the gens indeed most TST dials they do have that thin raised shinyish lume.... but of course you have options..
Bit of both, dsn's lume isn't great but also in the mood for bright LTL lume.
or see
What Vac/Sead etc could build you
With the last option you could look at other Tabacco dials... all depends what they can source..
Or try a want to buy for OS Tabacco dials/ models
I think Hike might be able to source a reasonable 36 dial... but he is away now for a month.... he is in Asia checking up on his girls...
No seriously he is doing good works to help the less fortunate...
I'll see what they have to offer, thanks for the help.
DSN 51c is a good choice. Auto, which is more practicla IMO, and no display CB, which is a big tell. I aso like the hobnail dial.
Same movement as gen, decent dial and hands. Lugs are too stubby, but if you want to drop it into a better case (Cartel 89, etc.) they exist.
I guess if i can't find anything suitable I'll go this route.
Thank you again everyone, really appreciate the help.

To start with I would suggest having a look at DSNs section...
But there are a few options.... I just dont rate any of the dials
PAM240?
Yeah I had a look at his section, the 240 does seem like the best option, but I was hoping for a manual wind. The 036 seems to fit the bill except I really dont like that yellow tritium look that dsn's has.
-
I would really like a brown dial pam, something like the 061, 116 or 118. Is there anyone who sells them. Could I use the new 177 as a base? I don't even know if there are any dials out there.

Hope they do a 351, saw the gen at an AD and it was gorgeous. The titanium case might be an issue.

Build a SOXA. Seiko Reliability, Doxa looks.
Where can I get these Soxa parts?

Just found these two on the bay, so i thought I'd give people here a heads up if they were looking for a movement. I'm expecting the price to sky rocket though, the BIN is already through the roof for the other one.
Having said that I would kill for a 240, personally I love the rugged looks and the power reserve, but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one, especially at these prices. So if someone does buy it I'm willing to pay anything up to
-
Now I have seen some reps with this type of movement but they were 47mm fiddy types and don't think there are any about still.
But its some fancy 3 barrel manual wind job
Did they really rep this movement? Do you have details?
-
i would love to do a 240 project, but don't have a hope in hell of being able to afford it Good luck with the project

The linked thread is talking about gen inserts for 35 Pounds, are they serious???
I rang up Rolex and they said they do GMT inserts for

I think the watch uses mostly recycled parts and is just a test bed for the new movement.
