So Wayward, you are saying that getting the version with the ETA movement - ie the more expensive rep - is worth it not just for the movement but for the accuracy of various elements and components as well? Is this typical or peculiar to the PO line? I'm also looking at Omegas from WatchEden but not Planet Ocean, and am curious to better understand what I'm getting if I invest more in the ones with ETA clone movements. Your insight is appreciated!
So I'm in love with the yellow dial Michael Schumacher Speedmaster with the yellow leather band. I'm sure you have all seen it. I don't believe there is a rep for this particular version of the Speedmaster (PLEASE correct me if I am wrong) so I thought about buying a regular Speedy and moding it. I found a gen yellow face for only $25 and the yellow bands are available as well.
If I buy a Speedy with the sub-dials in the right location from one of the sellers this forum endorses, would I be able to have a watchmaker swap the faces out?
I would then need to figure out where to find all the hands, but this would be a good start...
Am I on a fool
Toad, is this still giving you problems? I just bumped into this review and was considering one myself. Your review was/is fantastic - exactly what attracted me to this site.
