  1. If it is for the change and the idea of a rubber strap, you might get the old rubber strap for the first 42mm PO. Seems like it is no copy of the newer types of rubber strap for the 42mm. I guess that is probably why you did not get an answer
  2. It is not very often down, however the websites have trouble with the authorities from time to time. Also there are some clone sites with other addresses that just copy picture and text from Trusty Time, Perfect Clones, etc. So it is best to check that you got the correct website before you order. The website should look something like this (clickable picture): and be at this site http://www.ttw888.com/ If it is not, you have not ordered from Trusty's.
  3. Congrats! looks very nice! Where did you get it?
  4. I bought a Breitling Superocean Abyss in June, 2011. I used it a lot the first year, ie more or less a daily beater. Shortly after it stopped, and I used other watches. I brought it to Thailand and got it repaired, the repairman didn't say a lot and I hoped he had changed the movement. Didn't get an answer and he said of course " a year" and I thought sh.t! The watch went perfect not slowing or fastening, however after a month it stopped, then going 2-5 sec and stop for some sec and going for some sec, etc. When I brought it to repairman in Thailand he said it had had a shock. I did not use it when doing manual labour, however after it stopped I shaked it a lot around. There is a retired watch repairman close to where I live so I hope I can get him to change movement on this. (He doesn't do complicated repairs anymore, so I hope he will do this) I paid about USD 270 + post, and paid too much for the repair , so I thought getting an Asian 2824 and getting someone to change this. Trying to find an asian 2824 seems a bit difficult, although some on ebay. From watchuseek.com comparison ETA 2824-2 , Seagull ST-2130, TY2130 and HZ 6300. http://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/how-do-seagull-hangzhou-compare-eta-depth-look-216945.html 1. The link above does say that these movements are about the same, but I am unaware how to find the right replacement? Is this a match? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ETA-2824-2-AND-SELLITA-SW200-CLONE-MOVEMENT-SEAGULL-ST2130-100-EXACT-SAME-SPECS-/121081456572?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c310467bc How to specify a movement that fits? 2. Pitfalls? 3. Good to load up with movements? I have different movements like 4813, 2824, 7750, quartz, etc. Was a bit disappointed that this "simple" movement stopped. 4. surprised that these movements cost after I heard on this forum earlier that a movement like this costs USD 25. 5. Also heard this model, the Abyss had a tube weakness, my watch has been easy to fasten crown after adjustment. I know some watches fail and others go for a long time, that is also my experience.
  5. Never heard about the guy, but I found this: http://s161.photobucket.com/albums/t208/yobokies/?action=view&current=IMG_0522.jpg He seems to be selling parts, but probably just a photobucket-gallery like Reg. Read the comments below the picture, you will find email and some info.
  6. Just got my Breitling Abyss,it has been without tracking for a month. I am really happy when it suddenly got tracking again and I received it yesterday :-) :-) :-) Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
  7. Super watch, and Happy Birthday, Gran!
  8. I f buying this phone - iPhone-clone - my concern would not be customs risk (at all), it would be functionality. As I already bought a Nokia clone in Thailand I have tried this, and my concerns are: It was a 3-sim phone excellent on vacation, being able to use both cheap local sim and other people being able to reach me on my "home" number. That was excellent - all sims worked at the same time - and this is the ONLY reason I would buy a replica cell phone (at this time). Why? The software on these replica phones are not iOS/Apple, symbian, Android or just simple Nokia or SonyEricsson software. This means you have no glossary for SMS(txting) and you are 15 years back in functionality. The rest of the software is nothing like phones today at all. If you want to buy this phone to look cool and just use it as a phone (ie just calling ) - buy it! Of course you might be disappointed because even address book might not be remotely similar to present phones. And the phone might not look so cool Of course the price is also quite high on this one - I would rather buy a cheap used 1G iPhone instead of this. I am now using an Android phone, which I love and prefer over iPhone. However i would gladly get any used iPhone over this one. As I said in the beginning - the customs risk would be the last of my concern!
  9. No - it is www.1-pc8838.com now. The other one I think is a copy of Perfect Clones - I am not sure. However if you want to be sure use www.1-pc8838.com !
  10. I did find it at watcheden, and I guess it is not a decent rep as By-Tor says. Although I think sometimes it is OK to lower the specifications. The bezel seems to be wrong, it looks more like gears than the gen - which has a V-shape between the numbers Some of the numbers seem to be thicker on the rep. The subdial at 6 seems to have the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc wrongly placed. The subdial at 9 seems also to be a bit wrong. The minute hand seems to be too short. (It might be more faults I do not see) When all this is said, I might have a bit more relaxed approach to how gen-like a replica must be than others at this forum. I think the short minute hand might be a tell - but not to many people. I guess also the more U-shaped between the numbers on the bezel is quite possible to see without lining the rep up with the gen. Even now knowing these faults I do not think I would be able to spot the faults, except the bezel and minute hand - and perhaps not even these. I have been called out once - sort of - he was very nice about it. And he works with watches - it wasn't the watch that caught his suspicion, it was the strap. I know lots of people here will differ, however: This Formula 1 I would wear with pride - i think it looks good - even with its faults.
  11. The "Pendulum", it has already been replicated! Although badly.. and it is a quartz http://kingshowbox.com/goods.php?id=5193 The subdial is placed at 6 o'clock instead of 5 o'clock, etc, etc. But I guess it is a start and it is a new rep
  12. Good story, [censored] I think I would have asked him if he thought I looked like a homeless.. Would have been interesting to hear his answer Although good of you to be polite about it..
  13. I would definitely want the better rep of a watch I want to have with good quality, AR and it do not even need the swiss movement. I am in this hobby for a bit of the magic you get with the great watches.
  14. My turn: These are not like textbooks - the pages are individual tips to digital photography in random order. They are quite good, I guess vol 1 & 2 are best. Scott Kelby - Digital Photography - vol 1 Scott Kelby - Digital Photography - Vol 2 Scott Kelby - Digital Photography - Vol 3 Edit -I have found some more links to Photobooks, a mixed bag, one of them is "Learn to see creatively - Bryan Peterson" which I would guess is very good as he is a "guru". Have not read all these books, or looked at them - some like Glamour Photography ;-), etc and some "old" CS3 books. However I guess it is no use showing the links if it is of no interest. This is a watch forum and probably not that interest in photo, as the books I showed over are good but more general, not specialised in macro. Here is the list: Bryan Peterson -Learn to See Creatively D Evans, L Banks Classic Glamour Photography Techniques Of The Top Glamour Photographers Digital Boudoir Photography Focal Press Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Photographers May 2007 Focal Press Black and White in Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop Lightroom Aug 2007 Focal Press How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3 May 2007 Killer Camera Rigs That You Can Build Lighting nude Margulis Photoshop LAB Color Master Lighting GuideX Photography 74 classical model poses Private Rooms by Guido Argentini Single-camera Video Production Media Manuals 4th Ed Sybex Photoshop CS3 for Nature Photographers May 2007 The Five Cs of Cinematography Motion Picture Filming Techniques The Photographic Eye (I know this is linked over, but all the books is in 4 links) So if anybody is interested I'll get the links.
  15. Not strange I was impressed - as it is a gen. Well, very nice results - will look forward to your coming pictures.
  16. I think the slight underexposure gives a nice mood to the PO picture.
  17. Very impressed with your PO, both watch and photo! And the Lemania photo is just incredible The Lemania must be quite a bit larger than life and you stil seem to have some DOF. Are you using macro lens, extension tubes or reversing ring?
  18. Absolutely fantastic, that is a nice friend !
  19. I think(guessing) you refer to this: Carrera Racing - Pure Time often referred to as Carrera "Racing" which has red hands on 2 sub-dials and the chronograph second hand. It is a nice model, even the ordinary Carrera Chronograph and this is better - so definately good A friend of mine who works in a job where he cannot flash expensive watches has a Carrera 41mm and is very happy with it. I think it looks better with a black leather strap - especially nice on a "Racing" strap(the strap also called Racing) TAG Racing strap or on rubber like this Trusty Racing Carrera on rubber Of course it is all down to taste. Just my 2 cents -
  20. Thanks for a good eye-opening post - also thanks for the commitment to Admin and everybody who runs RWG
