  1. Doh...

Well they pulled it down, I was just about to copy and paste just in case. Too late...

Anyway, the jist of the story goes like this:

A well known watch dealer in Singapore (Time Will Tell) had a supposedly genuine 3646 watchcase for sale for a whopping $US10,000.

Several well respected Panerai collectors posted there was no way that was a genuine case and that he'd been done.... the case was worth $60 blah blah blah

He guaranteed it to be genuine, from a well known watch collector but then a few more well respected members also confirmed that it was not genuine.

The interesting part of this for me is that this is the company that I bought my latest Panerai from.... Hope it's real :p

I'm sure there'll be more from this story as the plot thickens.

  2. i got a perfect one and ended up selling it.

i do kind of look for it in my watch box occasionally but don't really miss it.

<snip> ust too far to the dress end of the sports/dress spectrum for me ;)

i'm a diver/tool watch guy. every time i've tried a dressier watch, gen or rep i've sold it.

the ingy was an amazing rep. if you like dress/sport watches go for it. you will love it!

I'm in the same boat as you... Probably one of the best reps out there right out of the box, but it wasn't 'tooly' enough for me. Sometimes I miss it, and probably wouldn't have sold it if there was a nylon strap when I got it... Come to think of it, I just might get another with nylon... or the AP ROO... or...

  3. Just curious what everyone thought....

My vote is for any thing that davidsen makes...

The dial fonts are terrible!!!! and the font on the panerai watches is such a key thing in a simple classic dial.

I admire his desire to make a better watch but come on...

Board members have even scanned dials for him and tried to give him font suggestions to no avail.

    Others?

I really like my Davidsen 026:

And my 195 ain't too shabby either:

What I don't like about them are the cases... Just can't seem to get thick straps on them :wounded1:

  4. I understand your situation Mark, and feel bad that you are going through these issues now. Trust me... this will make you stronger.

The only thing I would like to know before you sign out completely for a while is that you have received my watch and that it is safe with you. I sent it quite some time ago and I have had no replies to my PMs, email, or a confirmation that you'd received it. Just a really quick confirmation that you have iot and you know what has to be done will be totally acceptable.

    Good luck and godspeed :tu:

  5. Don't be cheap about buying shoes. A good pair of shoes can last many years and a cheap pair can be frustrating and painful. I may have a big box of fake watches, but I have a closet full of genuine designer shoes. Your girlfriend will appreciate a pair of Pradas a lot more than a pair of nadas. And you will appreciate her feet a lot more without some nasty bunions.

I second that :thumbsupsmileyanim: watches are fine, but something like shoes would have me a bit worried, being kind to your feet is very important, bad shoes can cause problems.

Would you wear rep prescription eyeglasses? :whistling:

  6. Well what can I say?

As Brian said a killer strap on a killer watch.. I think the perfect combo??? Well we will wait to see how it will turn out the blue strap you ordered from me ;)

    Congrats my friend :D

I am definitely looking forward to your strap V... I think I will have a hard time choosing between two blue straps. This Simona has not left my wrist yet :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  7. This is not good. Cartier is famous for smashing reps with a hammer on the spot. It is probably 100% certain that the watch in question is in a thousand pieces.

Is that even remotely legal?? After all, rep or not, it's his PROPERTY :black_eye: .

Hypothetically, what if he bought this thinking it was gen for some several thousand dollars, and they smashed it... wouldn't they be responsible for damaging HIS property?

  8. All I can say is WOW ROLLI!!! That put's my little collection to shame! Beautiful collection and an envy to strap enthusiasts around the world for sure!

Knowing the time I spend daily to choose a strap/watch combo, I'll just say wear them well! Please contact me if you want to offload anything ;)

  9. I also concur with 28277 and BMWRolex... Gmail is great. Their spam filters are working very very well.

For years I was stuck with my providers' email address/server, spam would be coming through all the time. I finally migrated all my contacts over to my gmail address(es) and I doubt I have had 12 spams come through to my gmail inbox or my Thunderbird email client.

As for Outlook... Biggest pile of crap bloatware (did I mention pile of crap?) mail client ever Ever... EVER

Unfortunately though, some people that need access to some corporate applications need outlook as their mail client... So far, I've been lucky to be able to be using Thunderbird/Mozilla exclusively since it's inception (and never lost one email).
