  1. Greetings,

One of my friends is going to school this fall in Galway. She's never been to Ireland and is in need of a cell phone.

Here's her list of questions. Any help would be appreciated.

    -inexpensive

-about 250-300 minutes a month (roll over minutes if possible)

-free calls in Ireland to Ireland (It would be great if it could also cover more of Europe)

    -strong signal in most areas

-low cost for international calls (I won't make many due to all the easy internet options, but less than $.99 a min would be great for when I'm not by a computer and have to make a call!)

    -unlimited texting

Do they use sim cards there? If so, can I have the sim card shipped to me here so once I get over there I can just put it in my current phone and have it working when I get off the plane?

Do I need a whole new phone?

Is it possible to have whatever I need (phone, sim card, etc.) shipped to me here so that I have it with me and in working order when I get off the plane in Ireland?

Thanks in advance for helping out.

  2. The Cosmic 2000 60m/200ft. is a great desk diver. If I recall correctly 38mm with a screw down crown. I have about 3 different models but only one with the 60m.

I think they are powered by a 1012 movement. WARNING, this Omega case requires an Omega case tool for the 3 piece case and will not come apart easily. You can't even get the crystal off without one.

The Chuck Maddox site has information on them.

    Congrats on a fine watch!

  3. This guy is a total fraud. I just reported him to iOffer. I won't use iOffer unless I can verify the person and they are in the US with a number I can verify. That being said I did buy a closed factory SM300 on iOffer from Angela in the US but not without an extreme amount of hassle and she scammed HD if I remember right.

Take a look at one of the watches he grabbed from a guy in HK:Speedy

    Don't those photos look familiar?

  4. IMO, just keep the A7750. Just pinch the gen sweep and broach the subs.

I just swapped out my gen 7750 from my Junghans day/date to my SM300 chrono and put the A7750 back in the Junghans.

I used the day wheel from the gen and it fit right in and I swapped out the rotor so the Omega has the Omega rotor.

They both keep good time and the Junghan hands (gen) fit on the A7750 with the a fore mentioned pinch/broach.

All you really need is the Omega date wheel and the gen hands and you're good to go. My Black dial version has plenty of threads on the tube so I didn't even machine in a gen tube.

The gen hands really improve the look as they are longer.

I'll do a short review when I get some time in the next few weeks.

Here's a quick shot and one of a gen: I've got to get a gen dial. Those curly toes are starting to bother me!

  5. Go all the way and slap a swiss 7750 into that puppy :)

  6. Do the old tuning fork accutrons count as quartz? Quasi-quartz? If so... I'd gladly take one of those. It's on my list of watches to buy at some point when I get around to it :)

Smooth as butter with a distinct hummmmmm. Watches are art. If you want correct to the second time check your cell phone.

    Perhaps something like this R:

  7. Remember on the gen hands, the sub hands don't fit - if I remember you need to slightly broach them and the sweep in too big so a pinch is in order.

The exact measurements are posted somewhere in the Omega area.

I just finished a swap to a Swiss 7750 with hands, date wheel, etc. The A7750 went into a Junghans chrono.

You'll love those gen hands as they are the correct length. You've got a super project under way!!
