Those pics are making me really want one. I love the strap combination and the clasp.
A great start to the addiction!!

For reference: 2254.50

If you want to do it right buy a gen dial and an ETA on the Bay and you're good to go. I assume your case has the correct HE placement.
Just say no to quartz........tic..........tic............tic...........tic.

Nice picture, the 2254 is a real classic. I have seen a couple in the wild, and the Speedy bracelet is really nice on this one, but when they have the 'Bond' bracelet, it really makes a difference!
I can't recall seeing one on a 'Bond' bracelet. Do you have one?
Mine's on the speedy right now.
Thanks,
Jim

The biggest tell is the pointer on the balance bridge- all wrong for a 727. You might find one on a 6234 from the early 60's- an early v72B.
You could be right about the 72B. that being said I have a 72C, 724, and a 727, and that movement that David shows just looks plain "rough" compared with any of mine.

Andreww,
You're right on point!
Comparing them side by side (yup, I grabbed Ofrei's last one at the old price) the differences are subtle but clear.
When I get it on I'll do a side by side of 42mm's since I have three, two of which are modded and now one with a gen dial.

R,
Thanks for the comparison shots.
Omega prices are going up so I think I'll pull the trigger on a gen.

As the owner of three 42mm PO reps I've always felt that the rep dials were very close. This seems to be backed up the detailed reviews as well.
Recently, I had a close look at a gen in my local AD and noticed a couple of things besides the curly toes on the logo.
The word PROFESSIONAL is much straighter on the gen than all of my reps. My rep dials have the word sloping lower to the end of the word.
The font is clearer.
Is this just me or do others agree? I haven't had the two side by side to pick apart.

Think I'll give one a try on my 5513.
That fold over link has always looked cheap!

Thanks for a great read and wonderful pics.
Now, it's tome to start the hunt for an early SM300 perhaps a 165.024 or ?
Congrats on one beautiful PO!!

I think they're reps!

What you have is REAL 100% BS.
Buy from the trusted dealers here only.

The watch seems to have the correct He placement just above the 10 marker which is correct. When the He marker is centered on the 10 it is a dead give away. You can change the hands for about $60 and the dial but you can't change an "off" case.

A great addition to the top row!

BB makes a great press as well. It's not you - it's the press - let me guess from India?

What with all the 42mm Planet Ocean posts going on I think it's time to repost the old
comparison by ST. It clearly shows what is correct on both watches.

If your watch looks like either one it's a gen or modded.

Speedy conversion to Swiss
in The Omega Area

I'm wondering if anyone has installed a Swiss 3 register chrono movement like the Lemania or older Landeron in a rep case.
Getting a gen dial and hands is no problem and not that pricey.
I have an old Lemania movement from a Tissot and would like to give it a try if anyone knows about the pusher spacing and depth.
Thanks,
Jim
