R,
That is one beautiful watch and on my "wish list". If I could only sell the BP Fifty.
Both bezels look great!

Thanks THD,
I was hoping you'd ring in.

Does the Gen Seamaster Pro GMT and the 2254.50 have a flat crystal or a slight dome?
Thanks,
Jim

Fantastic craftsmanship Rob!
What is the ligne for the 921?

I really like the fuzzy numbers and the font on the date wheel.

Well, I guess you can call it coincidence but here's another one from China. Gee, it kinda looks like the same presentation. This guy also sells hats.
I wonder where all the cases went. I think I'll ask David.

The 2254 is one of my favorites and yours look great with the vintage look!
Great work HD!

Robbie,
Modded rep or Gen in your photo?
Jim

You're exactly right. This looks fishy. The watch photo is of a gen but the whole deal is looking like fraud.
Thanks for the astute investigation.

David feels its Gen and I now agree based on all the conversations.
What a great way to verify details.
Now where is that repped 3135?

Jim, let me begin by apologising for not responding to your message earlier...
Do you mean a 20mm strap for a regular Seamaster, or a 20mm strap for a Planet Ocean?
If you mean for a Planet Ocean, there is not a rep strap made for the Planet Ocean in 20mm, so the options are either fitting a 20mm SMP strap (as is mostly factory installed) or try force-fitting a 22mm rep strap.
If you mean for a regular Seamaster, then a 20mm strap is available from here, as well as many other dealers
And now I'm slow in answering - from your answers I will force fit a 22mm rep strap. I had the chance to compare a gen 22mm rubber strap with my rep 22mm strap and really can't see the difference.
I assume all the rep 22mm rubber straps are the same, right? I can't get your link to load. watcheden
Thanks,
Jim

Gen and a steal!!

Go with the correct case and crown. The case on the $118 will drive you nuts once you see at gen.

As an Accutron collector I suggest you buy a working 214 on the Bay and swap the movements. If there is no hum in yours the coils are gone. If it hums but doesn't move the index wheel is probably the culprit.
Either way it's cheaper to do a swap.
Have you seen the AstroView? The GMT hand is at the 10:

It's the real thing. Six and Nine are open. A newer caseback, bezel is correct with the slightest flat top on the four. The one is a stick which was on the first generation of this case produced right after 165.014. They then went to a little left top on the one. Good fake inserts have fat numbers and a slightly larger triangle in the insert.
The large triangle dial is rare without the military T but was available.
Chuck Maddox and I discussed this a long time ago (RIP Chuck).

I just took a look at one other 1570 I've got with a loop and it's clear to me -- Davids movement is a copy. Everything is very machined on the gens. The stampings on Davids are too rough.
So, if a "Gen" ETA is +$100 which is cloned what is the market for a cloned 1570 or 3135. The real question on the 3135??
Is it adjusted to 5 positions on the clone??

David is offering the following:

I don't have a 1570 movement handy to compare the photo but would be very interested in a close review. Also, take a look at the datewheel font thickness.
The man is a master at 1:1 production.

Sweet watch. It looks like I see AR coating.
Wear it well!
