  1. I think I bought the last four (one missing some links) full ti bracelets that showed up on the rep boards a few years back. One went with a DSN 240 I sold a while back, and the other three were taken apart and combined with two s/s ones for my 161 and 091 projects. Paid a lot for them and doubt I will ever let them go.
  2. You may want to add two materials that, I believe are unique to Panerai watches: Anthracite (089/091 dials) Tantalum/Tantalium (192/172 cases)
  3. If your business/home systems are Mac based, definitely go with the iphone. If not, visit a store and get a feel for both, then pick the one with the interface that you feel most comfortable using.
  4. DAMN!!!! That's almost (missing one tic by the 18) a 161 dial. I wonder if they ever made it for the A7750 movement.
  5. YIPEE!!! Let's jump on the tobacco band wagon .... Still love my 036C, and wear it regularly. Just wish I could find an engraved display back, instead of the etched one on it now.
  6. There are various options. You could lookup one of the CG modding threads on the forum using search. You could purchase a custom cg (Goin, LH, SeadNembo, etc.). Or you could source one of the newer CGs from the sales section, and hope it fits, or mod it if it doesn't (never any guarantees that it will fit "out of the box" when dealing with reps). What you chose depends upon a couple of things. First, what series is the 088? Next, the crown dish depth must be taken into account - deep dish needs a long end lever portion, shallow dish means end lever portion probably will need shaving. If you want more accurate input, best to take some more pics of your CG and crown at various angles, with lever open and closed.
  7. Very nice combo. BOB (Waccex.de) make some really nice straps at very low prices (compared to other strap offerings). But you have to be keep an eye on their offerings as some of the nicest straps just appear for a few months, then suddenly drop out of site .... never to be heard of again Still wish I'd never let go of my Coconut Cashmere one One warning though, they also sell some very cheap looking, and priced, straps that really don't deserve to be in the same listings as some of their others.
  8. What about 42mm PAMs, like the 204 Wempe?
  9. Yup 24mm is distance between right and left
  10. Is your date window cutout completely flat and square? It looks slightly beveled, or maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me again
  11. And let us know if they do still have them, as I've got the same 063 that could use updating
  12. Lots of info on how to repair the 6497 in that "Knowledge Base" link I posted above. In fact answers to all your questions and complaints can be found just by browsing/searching the forum .......
  13. I think it would probably be a good idea to read up on the various movements, in the Knowledge Base section of the forum. After reading a few 6497 and 7750 related threads there, you'll have a better idea of what the differences are between automatic and manual movements.
  14. I think you need to explain what has gone wrong with your Asian 6497 movements a bit more. The A6497 is one of the more reliable replica movements out there, and much easier to fix than an automatic movement. You will have a tough time replacing your manual wind movement with automatic ones, as the dials, hands, and cases are not interchangeable between the two ...
  15. Also, don't forget, as you get older your hearing loss usually increases. So a member in their 40's or 50's may not notice that loud ticking, while a member in their 20's may. I'm lucky, or cursed (depending upon how you look at it ), I can still hear processor in my computer step up or down in speed (a very high pitched pulsing sound).
  16. I'm wondering also if perhaps the heights of the cases may vary slightly, meaning that perhaps on some cases the distance between the underside of the caseback and movement plates is greater than on other cases. Maybe all it takes is a little extra space for the ticking to begin to resonate and increase in volume .. did you try putting a thinner caseback on the gen/Fu case to see if that made it louder (maybe even a DSN auto caseback which would really leave a lot of space between the bottom of the movement and the inner surface of the CB)?
  17. Wait a second! You know what? If I put my rep right against my ear, I think I can just make out "Taps" being played ......
  18. Nice experiment. Did all cases have crystals of the same thickness and material? Did they have identical crown tube sizes? Same gaskets within crown tube, on crown, and equal amounts of greasing? Same distance from underside of crystal to top of dial? Did you compare case wall thicknesses between them all? Lots of different factors that may contribute to one case, or the other, being louder or quieter ...
  19. Pics are actually from a post on WristWatchPhoto blog, taken by the author, a professional photographer, while visiting Richemont.
  20. Ok, I already had the GMT wheel (I've got three now ) but am still missing one part, well two if you include the movement ring. It is part 227 in H5 (5.61mm) height. It is available on the Boley site, but unfortunately they don't sell to end users . But it seems that Cousins now has them in stock, and they finally have a reasonable option for international delivery , so hopefully shortly I'll only be needing a movement ring to complete my 029 project Thanks to W0lf and FxrAndy for posting all the relevant details. In summary, here are all the parts you will need. All are H5 heights, and are available from Cousins.uk (search for branded movement parts, ETA, 2893.2 -> search all): 242 cannon-pinion 2.9mm 2558 double toothed hour wheel 2.04mm 251 24 hour wheel 1.19mm 227 second wheel 5.61mm If anyone happens to have a DSN 027, 028, or 057 movement ring, please let me know. I'm working on getting one, but could always use an extra one or two for future builds.
  21. As you said, and from those pics, the finish on both movements seem to be very similar. So I'm not sure if I'd bother. The plates on that DSN look very nice. But if you must, there is a chance they will fit - especially as they are both low-beat to begin with. If one of the movements was a 6497-2, you may have run into compatibility problems.
  22. You may be out of luck there. First off, they aren't (or at least shouldn't be) painted - they are blued/flame blued/ something like that ... I forget the exact term at the moment. Next, they are no longer made. However, a member may have an extra set from ages ago .. you never know.
  23. So it is only the three parts Now all I need is a movement ring, or new case set
