Oh, microwave was a joke...I hope no one do that... (Well, I don't know what effect it will have on the strap, maybe it will shrink it, make it harder/softer, darker color, etc. If someone tried it, don't be shy, share your experience with us! )

You need to cook it (Microwave for example) Better yet, use protein cleaner! The smell will eventually degrade after awhile. Maybe put some calvin klein eternity. Start off with a light spray first, and put the strap next to silicon gel.
