  1. Sorry, just wanted to see if any experts could chime in and offer their opinion.
  2. Hi guys, Just wondering if someone could do a once over for the QC of my PAM111 V3 Noob from ToroBravo. Thanks!
  3. I just got the new 45mm UPO Swiss ETA from Joshua, and I'm not impressed with the movement... I still have yet to actually open the case back up, but from what I can see the self-winding feature is no good and will not automatically wind easily with regular movement of your wrist. Not sure what the problem for this is or if it can be easily fixed.
  4. Is it the case that brand new watches need to be "worked in" so that the automatic winding mechanism loosens so that it can be wound easier by casual motions?
  5. I don't have the tools to do that, I think I might just take it to a watch repair guy and see what they say.
  6. Hey guys, So I ordered the new UPO from Josh and everything seems fine aesthetically, however I think I have noticed a problem with the automatic Swiss ETA movement. It seems normal regular movements by your hand aren't enough to wind the watch, you really have to shake it. This is a big problem in the sense that your watch will stop if you just wear it and you don't manually wind it or shake it. I'm pretty sure this is not expected behavior right? Being a noob, I can't say much to this topic, but the other automatic watch I had (much cheaper rep) never had this problem. You could feel the rotors moving whenever you moved the watch a little. This watch you can't feel the rotors at all, I'm told this is a good thing, as it signifies a high quality movement. However could it be the case that the rotors are too tight? Is this easily fixed? Thanks
  7. Cool, thanks for the replies, I'm used to the 7550s and other cheaper reps.
  8. So today I received my first good rep...the new UPO swiss ETA... Now, I'm not sure if it's suppose to be like this, but usually in my automatic watches that I have owned in the past they had a rotor which you could "feel" spinning when you would strike the watch against your hand. When I try this one I can't feel it. Is this expected?
  9. Hey guys, So I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first rep...the new Swiss UPO without happy feet from Joshua. He sent me some pics (see attached)... Since I'm still pretty noob, I'd like to ask you guys to take a look and let me know if everything looks in order. Thanks all!
  10. Thanks for the help all, it is much appreciated. I emailed the dealers, apparently Tony at asian7750 says that they have sent the factory the specs for the right dial so it will be out soon. I think I'll hold out for this one
  11. Indeed...I think I will, but not now...and also I do a lot of traveling so I want a watch that's not so expensive to wear all over... Just looking for the best replicated Seamaster right now on the market... Currently I'm considering the Bond SMP and trying to convince myself of the PO chrono both from Joshua. Any comments about these two watches? Are both these watches sold currently the same watches referred to in By-Tor's best Omegas guide? Thanks
  12. Thanks for all the info guys... I don't think the He valve position is a big issue for me...but the font does bother me a lot more... How are the current 2531.80 swiss movements that the forum dealers are selling? Are they still selling the same one that was reviewed by everyone in Toad's post: ?
  13. So from what I understand all the SMP (chron and non chron) are not worth buying now because of the He valve flaw? No recommendations?
  14. How about the 2531.80? Joshua doesn't seem to have it anymore, he only has the new 2220.80. Where can I get a 2531.80 replica that's on by-tor's guide: How does the new rep 2220.80 stack up with the old rep 2531.80? I'm looking to buy a SMP, don't like the PO too much... What's the best replica available that is still sold by the dealers?
  15. Hi all, Pretty noob at this whole thing right now. Got into this whole thing after buying a not so bad replica (in my early opinion) from one of the markets in Beijing for $60. Currently looking into getting a Omega SMP chrono from Joshua. It seems they only have the new (red font) SMP chrono now. I'm just wondering how this compares to the old SMP chrono (non red font) reviewed by Toad and others?: Has anybody purchased it? The pictures seem pretty good. The inside casing looks even better then the old SMP chrono. Thanks, B
