  1. So, I see thicker markers at 3, 6, 9 on the Taka watch (V3). Why on earth would "the factory" move from a better dial (v1) to a LESS ACCURATE repro (V3)?? Not logical. I think TomHorn said the lume is more accurate on V3 - lume only at 3,6,9 & not around the dial. I cannot for the life of me understand why later versions of 3717 are less accurate. So they improved the lume but made the dial less realistic - a mixed bag or what? The other big question is why the V1 looks gray vs black on the V3. Is that an optical illusion due to the AR or are they really that different? Gray is pretty attractive, but as far as I know, incorrect. The chief AR is just awesomely awesome - looks like it was left off for the pix! Watchman888
  2. Another plus one on where to buy. I've spent a number of hours digging about the 3717 and so far have not found a definitive thread that specifies how to tell a v2 from a v3, and I've only seen one or two hints as to where to buy. One post said we need to spend around $400 to get a v3, but that info could be out of date. I got a Planet Ocean from Narikaa a while back for a WHOLE LOT less than $300-400, and as far as I know I got a full-tilt A7750 Ultimate P.O. 'Super-Rep'. At least I think I did. Sure is nice, anyway... I don't want to ask y'all to go over and over the same ground, but here's the thing - I don't mind digging and spending time (my G.F. thinks I'm obsessed), but it's not that easy (so far) to nail down hard data on V3 distinguishing features and where to obtain. 3. Love the aged lume, just like the best old Pams. Patina City!
  4. I agree - the PO from Reg was the best buy of my year and is very satisfying to own and wear.
  5. I love the looks of this watch, but was concerned about the size and thickness. With your comments (especially saying it wears no larger than a 44mm pam), you have removed most of my doubts. It's still one of the thickest watches around, but so good looking. In a lot of the pix, the orange decor looks almost like old ivory - a mellow, aged look and style. I like the lefty style too, for something this big. And, as with the original Italian navy diver pams, it does serve a purpose (beyond current comfort) by keeping the working parts out of the way. For a soldier/diver, a bash could stop a watch and cost your life when truly in harm's way...
