  1. Maybe its just me but from other pics of Angus version the AP logo looks a bit too rounded..
  2. What looks good: -Bezel, insert color, AR, lug screw hole size, indices, dial what looks bad: Insert font thickness (again!!), cg shape
  3. Correct. I used to have a diver v3 with A2836 and even that one ran like a champ. Current diver V3.5 are only available with Swiss eta 2824-2 (high beat) so you probably won't get sw200 in a new watch. If there was a choice between those two swiss movements I would still choose eta because it's 1) better made 2) they are both wrong beats anyways compared to gen.
  4. Each movement has strengths and weaknesses. If you want a genuine, low beat movement that has the same beat as the gen, then you can save about $120 and get Asian movement, and switch it with ETA movement when it breaks down (if at all). Accuracy will presumably be better on the SW200 because it's basically a 1:1 swiss copy of 2824-2. However, in terms of quality I would say ETA 2824-2 is still better than SW200. It all comes down to what you want: accuracy of the appearance vs accuracy in timekeeping.
  5. Looks awesome, now lets get those internal bezel and hands made!
  6. Not sure if I should be intervening, but I do have his contact info. As his name implies, Texski is based in Texas. He seemed like an honest guy to me, but I would do my best to help a member out here. pm me if you need more info. Anyways, I'm really sorry to hear this in addition to your recent loss, concepta. Hope everything gets sorted out.
  7. Unfortunately, yes. Bezel is thicker as well as the case, and case internal diameter is a bit smaller to accommodate the quartz movement inside. I suspect it is a completely different watch from a different factory. Useful if you're building franken because you will have to mill the case anyways with both versions, which I am doing.
  8. Case is similar to 7750 version of 3714 but not interchangeable. Dial spaces are obviously not the same. Milling required to fit 7750 in that quartz watch as bezel heights, internal diameters of the cases, and thickness of two cases are all different. Personally I wouldn't tackle it but swapping is possible post-milling. Fitting just the dial will not work. With that being said, dat RG version looks fantastic.
  9. You got a gen 15300 dial? Damn! Where? How?!
  10. I don't have a clue. It's not soon though because the factories will have to make a whole new case.
  11. I'm also about to pull a trigger on the ultimate so I'll do a bit of 'splainin. 1) 39mm version is not called jumbo, it's called regular RO. 36-38 ranges are all models off 14970, which is the predecessor of 15300. 2) 39mm RO without seconds hand is the current and discontinued jumbo (15202), of which no correct replica exists 3) I never saw a rep of 15300 in person, but from the pics it looks damn nice. Gens DO have a bit of glossy-ness and very discreet sunburst dial, but not as much as rep 15300 pics so you might want to add some matt paint to the dial. Indices/hands are also VERY nicely polished so you probably want to do that yourself too. Gen lume is [censored] poor too so why bother? This ain't a diving watch. No options for strap, not even for gen(ss). If you don't want to spend $400 in aftermarket parts then request your seller to sell bracelet +strap with the neccesary plots Sorry to say that I have never seen quality RO (not ROO) straps from any makers. Most don't make them, and those who make it sell crap for a high price. Go AP OEM if you must have that strap, b/c it's in a totally another world from custom strap, self-made, etc. 3) Where? Most trusted dealers sells them I think. Trusty and puretime has'em for example. 4) I would still wait to see 15400 released b4 making a decision, that's why I haven't bought one yet.
  12. Wrong hands, case, caseback, and the bezel is likely not to move (bought one before). Crappy quality for the money. I would buy the ROO diver over this any day of the week. Of course, if you want this watch badly then you can also go through the laborious process of swapping hands and indices with ROOC and RO parts...
  13. Well I've been hunting this watch for a while, and all the dealers are referring to this watch as 'jumbo' ultimate which is very wrong designation for this watch. Yes, they are all referring to 15300, not 'jumbo' or some unknown misc. ap royal oak model. If you see the usual cartel dealers the previous non-ultimate jumbo is without question a rep of 15300...Jumbo is 15202, and there is a good rep of this by mbw.
  14. I never bought one, and I am asking exactly because I don't want to buy a wrong one. Anyways, for some reason dealers all have wrong pictures then, because I see different details. For example: This is of course not much of a problem, but the second hands shape is much more apparent:
