DB and I are both working with the same HH 5514 case. I havent recieved my NOS 7020 tube yet, but the one I currently have only went in half way BUT, it seems a little stripped, or rep for that matter. Will know in a few days once the tube arrives if its the case, or the tube
-
Thanks for bringing it back around to the point buddy
doesnt make any sense to have 2 different thread pitches for 0.35 tubes
-
700 is to vulnerable, 703 to bulky.
-
thanks. have one of the hh prototypes for the 5514 and I am putting a 702 on it. havent gotten it yet but I tried with another 702 and it only went halfway in so a little concerned

Hey guys. Have a question regarding the threads of a 702 tube vs a 703.
Will a case tapped for a 703 take a 702 as well without the need to retap, or is the threading different on the 702?

Haha. Nope. Got some guitars. Kids. Used to have motorcycles.

Ending the work week wearing my Sub
5514 and a revolver? what else do we have in common???

Haha I got 3

no man, just compare the gen 5513 to the hh 5514, interested to see the cg's side by side
-
great case review. how about one of the 5514 from hh for comparison to the gen now
-
never done it, but I know there are a few members who have done it sucessfully.
-
should do the hev mod on the case as well. biggest flaw in the mbw 1665, dead giveaway
-
dont cut the feet off a gen dial. horrific. save for the 1570
-
Well that was my original plan. Also thought I would use double sided tape and stick the tube on a table. Then slam the case onto it.

That's the Alaska way. Us fancy New York Yankees need tools and diagrams
Thanks. That's the advice I got earlier which I'll go with

Forgive me if this has been covered before as I am certain that it has been.
Very simple. Is the tool used to install a 702 crown the same as a 703 and if NOT, can someone please direct me to where I can purchase one for a 702 installation online.
Thanks

no idea how to dress
3rd from the left, amazing

Looks great. Nice job

I see great potential, but how about a caseback pic? The Comex engraving on back is the key with these.
One of my reference pics is your caseback.

Nice Nanuq, good try
I have very fine wet/dry sandpaper and a capecode cloth. Want to round out the lugs a bit as well as the cgs. Not gonna go crazy, just some light aging
-
Send it to me ... I'll get ya started.
sure, I'll take your drsd for it
-
Get on it!
I am I am, kinda nervous to touch the case but it needs to be done for this build. Would look odd having a shiny new case for a build like this...

A nod from one of the master builders, thank you.

I got nothing but parts right now E. Have a lot of work to do on the case before I put it together. And still dancing around the idea of getting a hacking 1520 instead of using the non hacking 1560 that I currently have. PS, yuki case is still yours once I get this stupid hunk of metal together
