  1. Happy Birthday mr mg!

  2. that's great news mate. Glad it worked out for you. Fair point Carl. I thought you were having a go at the man, who was obviously distressed. Like you, I've bought a couple dozen now, off 3 of our 'trusted' with pretty mixed results. They've each communicated well, but insisted on different postage charges. Though I'm not that demanding, so perhaps I need to go in bargaining more strongly all's well that ends well huh. all the best, matt
  3. dont you think that's a bit rough Carl? Obviously he's been stung for not asking the question. The fact is that he has been charged a fee without consent! I would expect that a dealer would disclose this to start with and that given the timeframe there would be no cost to the buyer other than the shipping to China. Even that I believe is a bit cheeky given the DOA rate from some sellers. One dealer on here I have had to return a perfect 10 out of 10. I think you should let them know this is not acceptable Whoever and demand that you want to be reimbursed -at least through your next purchase. Other than that, we need to get serious abou leaving feedback for other members. and check out Joshua's new QC policy
  4. +1 for that great set up and innovation mate. Love the office. Making me think it's time for a refurb
  5. great to hear mate! Glad the patience has paid off. I'm about to post one of mine off for another fix -hopefully with similar success to you. Hope it makes it back now too. thanks for the update matt
  6. hey Whoever, I've shipped back to that dealer many times, and multiple times for the same piece in some cases... I have found that it varies as much as what the others have said, but on adverage it takes about 6 weeks I would say. Of course it depends on what service you paid for. Did you send it registered so that you can trace where it's at?? It doesn't seem to take that long to get there. The hold up seems to be when it arrives in China. But in saying that, of all the times I have shipped back there, I am yet to lose a watch. best of luck mate, mg
  7. very sad news for you Red. What a legacy he has created. My prayers are for you, and your family.
  8. ha ha, I agree Lhooq, the plastic case would be way too brittle nice work TeeJay; about time RWG had some greek mythology in one of it's threads. Perhaps watch lovers see themselves in the reflection of their watches...
  9. classic line: the "thank you for loving yourself" deal http://www.watcheden.com/20101101/buyone-get4.html
  10. maaate, thanks so much for the reply! That 48 wears so huge!! So it all comes down to the coatings then hey... It's interesting that a simple coating would increase the price by so much? But it's one of those watches that just has to be spot on, or I know I'll regret it later. thanks again Chrono for the info and the great pics, I appreciate it!
  11. Hi Admin team, sorry for leaving this as a post; I'm not sure how I'm meant to contact you?? I had joined some time ago and my subscription was coming out of paypal monthly. I've just noticed that I am no longer a vip member though? I haven't cancelled my subscription as I am grateful for all that RWG community has offered me and feel a responsibility to contribute. Im' just wondering if the payments could otehrwise have been cancelled and that if this has happened to me, then perhaps it has for others also?? thanks, matt
  12. Hi guys, I have spent about 12 months pouring over the dealers sites and of course RWG to try to understand the differences between the various versions of the syland avenger black steel. I fell in love with photos that Lani put up (breit porn) in a welcome message when I joined up here ages ago, but the Nav. was always top of the list! I am going to buy off Joshua again, as he's always done a great job with the post sale assistance etc. I haven't asked him yet about the models, and know this is an obvious thing to do. I'm not being lazy, but just want to understand what I am asking for. I don't like regrets If any of you can tell me your experience or understanding between these models, I would be greatful. And yes, I have read the reviews I can find here in a search. Although they don't always seem to come up in the searches (probably not using it correctly...). These are the 3 I'm looking at; http://www.1-pc8838.com/0blsa10004-skyland-avenger-chrono-pvdru-black-a7750-28800bp-p-5774.html cheaper. Looks the same as v2 dial and chronos, embossed numbers etc. Names a different coating?? http://www.1-pc8838.com/blsa10018-skyland-avenger-chrono-black-steel-limited-p-5159.html infamous v2 http://www.1-pc8838.com/blsa01004-blacksteel-limited-super-avenger-pvdru-7750-p-8061.html and the 48mm dial Sorry to ask basic questions, that have no doubt been answered before. But I'm just getting more confused the more I look. Especially as the specification conventions seem to be inconsistent... thanks mg
  13. great thread alright! I put mine on because it made me laugh and we can do with a bit more laughter in the world. After reading this thread though, I'm going to find something I can identify with a little more. thank you all for sharing. its great to hear how meaningful some of your av's are!! mg
  14. ooh nooo, I just checked the link you provided mactower (thanks), but that's not the item I was speaking about!!! Check this one out ~it's amazing!!! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110602037427&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
